Grace Kobilo Kiptui (born 1967) is a Kenyan politician who served as the woman representative of Baringo County from 2013 until 2017. [1] A member of the United Republican Party, she was elected in the 2013 elections. She is sometimes called "Mama County".
She was born and brought up in Kiboino, a town near Kabarnet. She was educated at Kiboino Primary School and Kituro Boarding Primary School. In 1977, she joined Kapropita Girls' High School for her O-levels before proceeding to Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls' High School in 1981. She studied law at the University of Nairobi, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws in 1987. In 1988, she enrolled at the Kenya School of Law for a postgraduate law diploma.
Kiptui entered public service as a legal officer in the Attorney General's Chambers. Between 1993 and 2012, she worked in private practice as an advocate. She is a principal partner at Kiptui Kipkemei & Co. Advocates.
Since 2006, Kobilo has hosted a radio talk show on Kass FM educating the community on vital legal issues.
Kiptui was elected the woman representative of Baringo County in the 2013 elections. She won by a landslide, garnering over 120,000 votes against Kaptuiya Cheboiwo's 25,000. [2]
She is a vocal campaigner against the practice of female genital mutilation and a champion of women empowerment. [3]
In conjunction with Ahadi Kenya Trust], a non-governmental organization, Kiptui has spearheaded a campaign against the jigger flea all over the county. The first phase of the programme covered the highland areas of Baringo Central Constituency and Baringo North Constituency. [4]
She is married to Daudi Kiptui. They have three children.

Martha Wangari Karua is a Kenyan politician. She is a former long-standing member of parliament for Gichugu Constituency and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She was Minister for Justice until resigning from that position in April 2009. She has consistently fought for the protection of women's rights and improvements to the democratic process.

Phoebe Asiyo is a former parliamentarian of Kenya, ambassador to the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), mother, and grandmother. She was UNIFEM's ambassador from 1988 to 1992. She was the first woman elevated to the position of Luo elder for her efforts to promote education for girls, women's rights, and gender equality in Kenya. Fondly called Mama Asiyo, she has dedicated her life to improving the political arena in Kenya, the role of women and girls, and those affected by the HIV epidemic. She was the first woman in Kenya with its 42 communities to become elder.

Grace Monica Akech Onyango, popularly known as Nya'Bungu, was a Kenyan politician. She achieved several firsts in post-independence Kenyan politics, as the first female to climb up the ranks of the political system, defying cultural barriers. She was the first Kenyan female mayor, after she replaced Mathias Ondiek as the Mayor of Kisumu in 1965. She was also the first female Member of Parliament in post-independence Kenya after she was elected to represent Kisumu Town Constituency in 1969. In Parliament, Onyango was the first woman to sit in the speaker's chair as temporary deputy speaker, and served as Deputy Speaker from 1979 to 1984. Her political career ended after she lost her parliamentary seat in 1984. Onyango also served as the first female secretary-general of the Luo Union.

Reuben Kiborek is the current Member of Parliament for Mogotio Constituency of Baringo County located in Rift Valley, Kenya. He was elected to the seat the 2022 Kenyan general elections. Kiborek had previously contested Mogotio in the 2017 elections. He is a member of the United Democratic Alliance party. Prior to politics, he worked as a herdboy.
