The Carolina Panthers are a professional American football team based in Charlotte. The Panthers compete in the National Football League (NFL), as a member club of the league's National Football Conference (NFC) South division. The team is headquartered in Bank of America Stadium in Uptown Charlotte; which also serves as the team's home field. The Panthers are supported throughout the Carolinas; although the team has played its home games in Charlotte since 1996, it played its home games at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina, during its first season in 1995.

Gruden was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2002, which he led to their first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XXXVII the same season. After his firing from the Buccaneers, Gruden was featured as an analyst for ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcasts from the 2009 to the 2017 seasons.
William Green is an American former professional football player who was a running back for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Boston College Eagles, receiving consensus All-American honors in 2001. The Browns chose him in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft and he appeared in 46 games for Cleveland between 2002 and 2005.

Lakeland Senior High School, opened in 1902, is the oldest public high school in Lakeland, Florida, United States. The school was originally located on North Florida Avenue and was destroyed by fire in 1927. It is part of Polk County Public Schools. Lakeland Senior High School was the original high school in the city. It also shares its campus with Lois Cowles Harrison Center for the Visual and Performing Arts. Considered the top running back prospect for the 2012 NFL Draft, Richardson was considered by some as the best running back prospect since Adrian Peterson, and was selected third overall by the Cleveland Browns. After being traded away from the Browns to the Indianapolis Colts during his second season, his production saw a massive decline. Having been out of the NFL after five seasons, he is sometimes considered one of the biggest draft busts in league history. He played for the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football in 2019 and led the league with 12 rushing touchdowns.

John Paul Guzik III was an American football linebacker who played three seasons in the National Football League (NFL) and American Football League (AFL) with the Los Angeles Rams and Houston Oilers. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth round of the 1958 NFL Draft. Guzik played college football at the University of Pittsburgh and attended Cecil Township High School in Washington County, Pennsylvania. He was a consensus All-American in 1958. He was traded from the New York Giants to the Baltimore Colts for Jerry Richardson on August 3, 1961. He was a member of the Houston Oilers team that won the 1961 AFL championship.
Charles Edwin Washington is a former American football defensive back who played six seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons. He was selected by the Colts in the seventh round of the 1989 NFL Draft. He played college football at Cameron University and attended H. Grady Spruce High School in Dallas, Texas. Washington was also a member of the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
