Putnam County is a county located in the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2020 census, the population was 97,668. The county seat is Carmel, located within one of six towns comprising the county. The county is part of the Hudson Valley region of the state.

It is part of the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger New York–Newark–Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA Combined Statistical Area.
Southeast is a town in Putnam County, New York, United States, so named for its location in the southeastern corner of the county. The population was 18,058 at the 2020 census. The town as a whole is informally referred to as Brewster, the town's principal settlement; the latter is also an incorporated village within the town's borders. Interstate 84, Interstate 684, U.S. Route 202, US Route 6, and NY 22 are the primary routes through the town.
Elmsford is a village in Westchester County, New York, United States. It is part of the New York metropolitan area. Roughly one square mile, the village is fully contained within the borders of the town of Greenburgh. As of the 2010 census, the population of Elmsford was 4,664.

Millwood is a hamlet and census-designated place located in the town of New Castle, New York, United States in Westchester County. It was originally settled as Sarlesville. The area now known as Millwood appears on 19th century maps as Merritt's Corners and Rockdale Mills. As of the 2000 census, the community had a population of 1,210.
The New York and Putnam Railroad, nicknamed the Old Put, was a railroad line that operated between the Bronx and Brewster in New York State. It was in close proximity to the Hudson River Railroad and New York and Harlem Railroad. All three came under ownership of the New York Central system in 1894. The railroad was abandoned starting in 1958, and most of the former roadbed has been converted to rail trail use.
The Saw Mill River Parkway is a limited-access parkway that extends for 28.93 miles (46.56 km) through Westchester County, New York, in the United States. It begins at the border between Westchester County and the Bronx, as the continuation of the Henry Hudson Parkway leaving New York City, and heads generally northeastward to an interchange with Interstate 684 (I-684). At its north end, the parkway serves as a collector/distributor road as it passes east of the hamlet of Katonah. The parkway is named for the Saw Mill River, which the highway parallels for most of its length.
New York State Route 312 (NY 312) is a short state highway connecting U.S. Route 6 (US 6) and NY 22 within the town of Southeast in Putnam County, New York. It allows indirect access to the village of Brewster from Interstate 84 (I-84), and is often heavily used by local residents at rush hour in preference to the more complicated nearby access to I-684. The western terminus of the route is at US 6 roughly 2 miles (3.2 km) northwest of Brewster, and the eastern is in the hamlet of Sears Corners.
New York State Route 117 (NY 117) is a 15.23-mile (24.51 km) state highway in Westchester County, New York, in the United States. The southern terminus of the route is at an intersection with U.S. Route 9 (US 9) north of the village of Sleepy Hollow. The northern terminus is at an interchange with the Saw Mill River Parkway just south of Interstate 684 (I-684), south of Katonah, a hamlet in the town of Bedford. NY 117 meets the Taconic State Parkway in Pleasantville and parallels the Saw Mill Parkway from Pleasantville to Bedford.
New Rochelle station is a Metro-North Railroad and Amtrak train station located in New Rochelle, New York. The station serves Metro-North's New Haven Line and Amtrak's Northeast Regional; Bee-Line Bus System buses serve a bus stop just outside the station. As of August 2006, weekday commuter ridership was 4,020, and there are 1,381 parking spots. It is the busiest New Haven Line station in Westchester County.
The North County Trailway is a 22.1-mile (35.6 km) long paved rail trail stretching from Eastview to Baldwin Place in Westchester County, New York. It is also part of the statewide Empire State Trail.

The Metro-North Railroad's Beacon Line is a non-revenue line connecting the railroad's three revenue lines east of the Hudson River. From west to east, the lines that connect are Hudson Line, Harlem Line, and the Danbury Branch of the New Haven Line. It was purchased by Metro-North in 1995 for $4.2 million from Maybrook Properties, a subsidiary of the Housatonic Railroad, to preserve it for future use, training, and equipment moves. Maybrook Properties purchased the line from Conrail after Conrail withdrew from the Danbury, Connecticut, freight market in 1992.
The South County Trailway is a 14.1-mile (22.7 km) long rail trail stretching from the Putnam Trail in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx to the North County Trailway in East View, New York. Westchester County Parks constructed the trailway in segments beginning in 1990 and completed it on October 31, 2017.
Eastview is a business district and former hamlet in Mount Pleasant, Westchester County, New York, United States, located approximately 25 miles north of Midtown Manhattan. It was primarily residential, and had a post office, railroad station, and school. In the late 1920s, John D. Rockefeller Jr. purchased most of the hamlet's property and razed the buildings. The Hammond House, a National Register of Historic Places-listed farmhouse dating to the 1720s, is located in the district, on New York State Route 100C. Currently, dozens of commercial buildings have been developed in the area. The community is now most prominently known as the global headquarters for Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, which moved into a newly constructed campus in 2014.
The Putnam County Trailway is a paved 12-mile (19 km) bicycle and pedestrian trail in Putnam County, New York. With few exceptions, it follows the former right-of-way of the New York and Putnam Railroad from the northern end of the North County Trailway at the Putnam County line in Baldwin Place north, then east, to Carmel. In 2011 the trail was extended east to Brewster. In late summer 2018, a final section bypassing portions of Putnam Ave in Brewster, which was formerly closed off with construction barriers and signs, has been opened. The Brewster station of the Metro-North Railroad is a short distance away.
The Orange Heritage Trailway is a 19.5-mile (31.4 km) rail trail in Orange County, New York, that runs along the roadbed of the Erie Railroad's Main Line from Monroe, NY to nearby Middletown.
Millwood was a railroad station on the New York and Putnam Railroad in the hamlet of Millwood in New Castle, New York. It was located on Station Road just south of the southeast corner of the west end of the NY 120/133 overlap. Originally built by the New York and Putnam Railroad in 1881, this later became the Putnam Division of the New York Central Railroad. The original station house was built in 1888 but burnt to the ground soon after. The station was replaced in 1910 when the old Briarcliff Manor station was moved by flat car to the current location. The Putnam Line ended passenger service in 1958; the line was abandoned and now serves as the North County Trailway rail trail.
