The Grand Hyatt San Antonio is a 34-story, 1,003 room hotel in Downtown San Antonio, Texas, built in 2008. [1] It is the tallest building constructed in the city during the 2000s, the second tallest hotel in the city, and the third tallest skyscraper overall in the city.

It is 129 metres (423 ft) tall, and is located adjacent to and connected with the Henry B. González Convention Center.

The building was designed by the firms Arquitectonica and Kell Munoz Architects, [2] and is mixed residential/commercial (hotel) use.

With help from commissioner Henry B. Gonzales and other San Antonio leaders, the fair materialized and helped transform the city from a cowtown to one of the largest cities in the country. The theme of the fair was "The Confluence of Civilizations in the Americas", celebrating the many nations which settled the region. The fair was held in 1968 to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the founding of San Antonio in 1718. More than thirty nations and fifteen corporations hosted pavilions at the fair.
