The Grand Prix de l'UVF was a track cycling sprint race held annually from 1894 until 1945. [1] During this time, it was the most important competition for track sprinters alongside the UCI Track Cycling World Championships and the Grand Prix de Paris.

Daniel "Dan" McLay is a British racing cyclist, competing in road, track and cyclo-cross, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Arkéa–Samsic. His first season as a professional was 2015, racing for French pro-continental and 2014 Tour de France wildcard outfit Bretagne–Séché Environnement. Primarily a sprinter, McLay is also competent in the Flemish racing scene and has a particular affinity to the Northern Classics. He was named in the start list for the 2016 Tour de France.

In 2015, she switched to track cycling and won a bronze medal in the team sprint at the 2015 UEC European Track Championships in Grenchen, Switzerland.

Émile Louis Friol was a French track cyclist. He won the sprint event at the 1907 and the 1910 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in addition to a bronze medal in 1906. He also won the European sprint championships in 1907 and 1910 and the French national sprint championships five times: in 1904, 1906, 1907, 1910 and 1913. Other notable victories of his include the Grand Prix de Paris in 1905, 1907, 1909 and 1910, the Grand Prix de Reims in 1907 and 1910, the Grand Prix de l'UVF in 1908, 1910 and 1911 and the 1910 Grand Prix de Buffalo.
