[3] He had to wait another year to make his first class debut, coming on as a second-half substitute in their 2011 Vodacom Cup match against Argentinean side Pampas XV in Potchefstroom, [4] followed by four more appearances in the same competition and another four in the 2012 Vodacom Cup.

He was named in their Currie Cup squads in 2011 and 2012, but failed to make an appearance, despite twice being named on the bench – in their 2011 match against the Border Bulldogs [5] and their 2012 match against the Leopards. [6]

Leopards

Shortly after that match against the Leopards, Janke actually joined the Potchefstroom-based team. He made his Currie Cup debut for them in their match against the Falcons. [7] Two more appearances followed that season, including a start against the Eastern Province Kings. [8]
