Green Wake is a horror comic book series published by Image comics in 2011. [1] The series takes place in the forgotten town of Green Wake, where a string of mutilated murder victims lead detectives Morley Mack and Kreiger in search of a young woman named Ariel, their prime suspect. When a stranger arrives in town with startling connections to Ariel, Morley discovers a dark link between the case and his past. It only ran 10 of the planned 25 issues, due to a lack of sales. Reception

The series received positive reviews from critics, often praising the book for its experimental and enigmatic tone. [4] [5] Comic Book Resources called it "the strongest debut of 2011". [6] Kurtis J. Wiebe won the 2012 Joe Shuster Award for Outstanding Writer for his work on the series. [7]

Spider-Man: Big Time

"Big Time" is a series of comic book storylines in The Amazing Spider-Man, published by Marvel Comics from 2010 to 2011. It follows the 102 consecutive issues of the "Brand New Day" publishing scheme and is the first shift in publishing for The Amazing Spider-Man since "Brand New Day" began. The frequency of publication dropped from three issues monthly to two issues, but the length of the comic book expanded from 22 to 30 pages. This extra length is sometimes used for back-up stories and sometimes for a longer main story. Concurrently with the story going in The Amazing Spider-Man, Marvel also started the new series Spider-Girl vol. 2, Osborn, and Carnage, which are considered part of "Big Time." All nine issues of "Big Time" have sold out at Diamond Comic Distributors and have a second printing with a variant cover.

<i>Avenging Spider-Man</i> American comic book series from Marvel Comics

Avenging Spider-Man is the title of an American comic book series published monthly by Marvel Comics, featuring the adventures of the fictional superhero Spider-Man. The events in the story take place in the primary continuity of the mainstream Marvel Universe along with the events of The Amazing Spider-Man and later The Superior Spider-Man. This was the first ongoing series to feature Spider-Man as the main character besides The Amazing Spider-Man since the cancellation of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and the second volume of Sensational Spider-Man in December 2008 following the conclusion of the "One More Day" storyline. Avenging Spider-Man has also been instrumental in Marvel's shift towards including codes to receive free digital copies of the comic with purchased print comic books.

<i>Saga</i> (comics) Science-fiction/fantasy comic book series

Saga is an epic space opera/fantasy comic book series written by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Fiona Staples, published monthly by the American company Image Comics. The series is heavily influenced by Star Wars, and is based on ideas Vaughan conceived both as a child and as a parent. It depicts a husband and wife, Alana and Marko, from long-warring extraterrestrial races, fleeing authorities from both sides of a galactic war as they struggle to care for their daughter, Hazel, who is born in the beginning of the series, and who occasionally narrates the series as an unseen adult.

<i>Rachel Rising</i> Comic book series

Rachel Rising is a 42-issue American comic book series created by Terry Moore and published through Abstract Studio. The first issue was released on August 3, 2011, to positive reviews. Reviewers sometimes criticized the pace later in the run, but the series won industry awards throughout its publication. Since its conclusion in 2016, members of the cast have reappeared in other works by Moore. Plans for a television adaptation were announced April 17, 2013, but was still in the scripting stage in 2015.

<i>Nailbiter</i> (comic)

Nailbiter is a horror comic book series that was created by Joshua Williamson and Mike Henderson, with art by Henderson. The series is published by Image Comics and its first issue was released on May 7, 2014. As of May 2017, the series has been collected into six volumes. The final monthly issue, number 30, was published in March 2017.
