Rasulala died shortly after completing his scenes, and the film is dedicated to his memory.

The Vardon Trophy is awarded by the PGA of America to the PGA Tour's leader in scoring average. When the award was first given in 1937, it was awarded on the basis of a points system. No award was given from 1942–1946 due to World War II. In 1947, the PGA began awarding it for low scoring average. In 1988, the trophy began going to the golfer with the lowest adjusted scoring average over a minimum of 60 rounds, with no mid-round withdrawals. The trophy is named for the Jersey golfing great Harry Vardon, who died in 1937.

He shared the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for the 1966 film Grand Prix, which was the very first film on which Linder was credited as an editor. Linder is particularly noted for his long collaboration (1982–2006) with the director Barry Levinson.
