Gregor Henze

Gregor P. Henze is a German-American engineer.

Henze, a Berlin native, [1] was a named a Fulbright Scholar in 1989, [1] and resided in the United States from 1990 to 1991, [2] where he completed his master's of science in mechanical engineering at Oregon State University in 1991. [3] He subsequently earned his Diplom in mechanical engineering from Technische Universität Berlin in 1992, and returned to the United States to obtain a doctorate in civil engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder in 1995. [3] Henze remained on the CU Boulder faculty, where he was later named Charles Victor Schelke Endowed Chair. [3] From 2013, he has held a joint position at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. [4] In 2022, Henze was appointed a Fulbright Distinguished Chair at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation in Australia. [1] [2] Over the course of his career in the United States, Henze naturalized as an American citizen. [2]

Robert "Bob" T. McGrath is the director of RASEI, a joint institute of NREL and CU-Boulder. She is a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Minnesota, where she directs the Solar Energy Laboratory, and is the former Ronald L. and Janet A. Johney Green is an American scientist who is the Associate Laboratory Director for Mechanical and Thermal Engineering Sciences at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. His research considers additive manufacturing and renewable energy systems. He is Chairman of the National GEM Consortium.

Ivan I. Smalyukh is a physicist working in soft condensed matter physics, especially in the domain of liquid crystals. He is a professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Colorado at Boulder and director of the International Institute for Sustainability with Knotted Chiral Meta Matter with headquarters at Hiroshima University. Smalyukh was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, among many other awards. He and his research group hold the Guinness record for achieving the highest visible-range optical transparency in a material.
