The Guatemala national handball team is the national team of Guatemala. It takes part in international handball competitions.

The 2014 Pan American Men's Handball Championship, was the 16th official competition for senior men's national handball teams of North, Center, Caribbean and South America. It was held from 23–29 June 2014 in Uruguay. It also acted as the qualifying competition for the 2015 World Men's Handball Championship, securing three vacancies for the World Championship.

The Guatemala women's national handball team is the national team of Guatemala. It is governed by the Federation National de Balomano de Guatemala and takes part in international handball competitions.

The Central American Handball Championship is the official competition for Men's and Women's national handball teams of Central America. In addition to crowning the Central American champions, the tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the Pan American Handball Championship.

2016 Pan American Mens Handball Championship

The 2016 Pan American Men's Handball Championship was the 17th official competition for senior men's national handball teams of North, Center, Caribbean and South America. It was held from 11 to 19 June 2016 at the Tecnópolis in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It also acted as the qualifying competition for the 2017 World Men's Handball Championship in France, securing three vacancies for the World Championship.

USA Team Handball is the governing body for handball in the United States. USA Team Handball is funded in part by the U.S. Olympic Committee. Previously, the governing body was the United States Team Handball Federation, but was revoked of its governing duties by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).

The 2017 Pan American Women's Handball Championship was held in at the Sociedad Alemana de Gimnasia de Villa Ballester, in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina from 18 to 25 June 2017. It acted as American qualifying tournament for the 2017 World Women's Handball Championship. The event was originally set to be held in Toronto, Canada but the Canadian Handball Federation withdrew, citing lack of funds.

Handball competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru are scheduled to be held from July 24 to August 3. The venue for the competition is the Sports Centre Hall 1 located at the Videna cluster. The venue will also host judo. A total of eight men's and eight women's teams competed in each tournament. This means a total of 224 athletes are scheduled to compete.
