Nimpkish Lake Provincial Park is a provincial park on northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada on Vancouver Island. The park is 3,949 ha. in area and was established on 1995. It is 32 km south of Port McNeill and on the southwest side of Nimpkish Lake. Primary access is by boat launch, though radio-controlled logging roads lead to the edge of the park. Western Forest Products in Woss, British Columbia should be contacted for road advisories. The park is in the traditional territory of the Namgis First Nation.

The ruin is located in a fertile valley at an elevation of 2,299 metres (7,543 ft). The region around Caranqui, extending into the present day country of Colombia, was the northernmost outpost of the Inca Empire and the last to be added to the empire before the Spanish conquest of 1533. The archaeological region is also called the Pais Caranqui.
The Western Ecuador Moist Forests (NT0178), also known as the Pacific Forest of Ecuador, is an ecoregion in the plains and western foothills of the Andes of southern Colombia and Ecuador. At one time this region contained dense forests with highly diverse flora and fauna, and many endemic species. Most of the original habitat has now been destroyed, and the ecoregion is one of the most threatened in the world.
