Paris–Tours is a French one-day classic road cycling race held every October from the outskirts of Paris to the cathedral city of Tours. It is a predominantly flat course through the Chevreuse and Loire valleys; the highest point is 200 m, at Le Gault-du-Perche. It is known as a "Sprinters' Classic" because it frequently ends in a bunch sprint at the finish, in Tours. For several decades the race arrived on the 2.7 km long Avenue de Grammont, one of cycling's best-known finishing straits, particularly renowned among sprinters. Since 2011 the finish was moved to a different location because a new tram line was built on the Avenue de Grammont.
The 1966 Tour de France was the 53rd edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling's Grand Tours. It took place between 21 June and 14 July, with 22 stages covering a distance of 4,329 km (2,690 mi).
Carrera was an Italian-based road bicycle racing team active from 1984 to 1996, named after sponsoring Italian jeans manufacturer Carrera. He also competed in the 1000m time trial and team pursuit events at the 1980 Summer Olympics.
Guido Reybrouck is a Belgian former road bicycle racer. He is an older brother of Wilfried Reybrouck and the cousin of Gustave Danneels.

The Men's Individual Road Race of the 1987 UCI Road World Championships cycling event took place on September 6 in Villach, Austria. The route consisted of twenty-three laps totaling to a length of 276 km (171 mi). Irishman Stephen Roche won the race, while Italian Moreno Argentin and Spaniard Juan Fernández finished second and third, respectively. By winning the race, Roche also completed the Triple Crown of Cycling, which consists of winning two Grand Tour races and the men's road race at the UCI Road World Championships in a calendar year.
Dayer Uberney Quintana Rojas is a Colombian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Arkéa–B&B Hotels. He is the younger brother of fellow professional cyclist Nairo Quintana, who also rides for the Arkéa–Samsic team. His first professional victory was stage 3 of the 2014 Tour of Austria. In August 2020, he was named in the startlist for the 2020 Tour de France.
The 2014 GP Ouest-France was the 78th edition of the GP Ouest-France, a single-day cycling race. It was held on 31 August 2014, over a distance of 229.1 km (142.4 mi), starting and finishing in Plouay, France. It was the twenty-fourth race of the 2014 UCI World Tour season.
Paul Néri was an Italian racing cyclist. He rode in the 1947, 1948 and 1949 Tour de France. Italian by birth, he was naturalized French on 5 August 1955.
