Gunnar Henrik Bucht (born 5 August 1927) is a Swedish composer and musicologist. Bucht studied composition with Karl-Birger Blomdahl, Carl Orff, and Max Deutsch, among others.

Soprano Alice Esty gave the world premiere of his 1965 composition Sex Årstidssånger in May 1966 at Carnegie Hall. [1]

The Canticle of the Sun is a musical composition by Leo Sowerby (1895–1968) setting Matthew Arnold's English translation of Francis of Assisi's "Canticle of the Sun" for chorus and orchestra in 1945; the work was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Music the following year.
