Gunther Belitz is a paralympic athlete from Germany competing mainly in category F42 high and long jump events. He is also editor of the German magazine Handicap. [1]
Belitz has competed in four Paralympics, his first in 1988 he competed in just the long jump. Four years later in the 1992 Summer Paralympics he competed in the high jump and 4 × 100 m relay as well as winning the bronze medal in the TS1 100m and a gold in the J1 long jump. In the 1996 Summer Paralympics he competed in the 100m and high jump and won a silver medal in the long jump. His last appearance in a Paralympics was in 2000 where he competed in the long and high jump, this time winning a bronze medal in the F42 high jump. [2]

Christine Ingrid Wolf, OAM is an Australian Paralympic athlete born in Germany who competed for Germany and Australia mainly in category F42 long jump and T 42 100 m events.

Myanmar has been a sporadic participant in the Paralympic Games. It first competed, as Burma, at the 1976 Summer Paralympics in Toronto, with a delegation in track and field and shooting. These athletes were fairly successful, Tin Ngwe becoming Burma's first Paralympic champion by winning the men's 100m sprint in the C1 category. Aung Than won silver in the same event, while Tin Win took bronze in the men's 100m in category C. Burma was absent from the 1980 Games, returning in 1984 to take part in volleyball and track and field. Tin Ngwe, in category A3, won gold in the men's high jump, and silver in the long jump, while Aung Gyi won silver and bronze, respectively, in those same two events. In both Burma's appearances in the Paralympics, it fielded all-male delegations.

India competed in the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London from 29 August to 9 September 2012. The nation made its official debut at the 1968 Summer Paralympics and has appeared in every edition of the Summer Paralympics since 1984. This was India's 10th appearance at the Summer Paralympics. The Indian contingent consisted of ten athletes competing across four sports in the Paralympic Games. India won one silver medal in the competition.

The 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships was the biggest track and field competition for athletes with a disability since the 2012 Summer Paralympics. It was held in Lyon, France, and lasted from 20 to 28 July. Around 1,100 athletes competed, from 94 different countries. The event was held in the Stade du Rhône located at the Parc de Parilly in Vénissieux, in Lyon Metropolis.
