Gunther Teubner (born 30 April 1944 in Herrnhut) is a German legal scholar and sociologist, best known for his works within the field of Social Theory of Law. His work "stands as one of the most highly evolved positions in the contemporary sociology of law and legal-political norms". [1]
He was Professor of Private Law at the University of Bremen from 1977 to 1981. From 1982 to 1991 he was associated with the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. From 1993 to 1998 he was the Otto Kahn Freund Professor of Comparative Law and Legal Theory at the London School of Economics, and since 1998 he has been Professor of Private Law and Legal Sociology at the University of Frankfurt. Since 2007, Teubner has been Principal Investigator at the Frankfurt Excellence Cluster "The Formation of Normative Orders". In 2007/2008 he was Fellow at Wissenschaftskolleg Berlin, in 2009/2010 at the universities of The Hague, and Maastricht. In 2011 he has taken up an "ad personam" Jean Monnet Chair at the International University College of Turin.

He was a professor at the University of Munich and also held appointments at the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH) in Paris, and at the London School of Economics.
Claus Offe is a political sociologist of Marxist orientation. He received his PhD from the University of Frankfurt and his Habilitation at the University of Konstanz. In Germany, he has held chairs for Political Science and Political Sociology at the Universities of Bielefeld (1975–1989) and Bremen (1989–1995), as well as at the Humboldt-University of Berlin (1995–2005). He has worked as fellow and visiting professor at the Institutes for Advanced Study in Stanford, Princeton, and the Australian National University as well as Harvard University, the University of California at Berkeley and The New School University, New York. Once a student of Jürgen Habermas, the left-leaning German academic is counted among the second generation Frankfurt School. He currently teaches political sociology at a private university in Berlin, the Hertie School of Governance.

Constitutional theory is an area of constitutional law that focuses on the underpinnings of constitutional government. It overlaps with legal theory, constitutionalism, philosophy of law and democratic theory. It is not limited by country or jurisdiction.
The sociology of law is often described as a sub-discipline of sociology or an interdisciplinary approach within legal studies. He is presently a Research Professor of Law and Distinguished Scholar in Public Law and Jurisprudence at the Jindal Global Law School, OP Jindal Global University. He has been the vice-chancellor of University of Delhi (1990–1994), prior to which he held the position of professor of law at the same university for 23 years (1973–1996). Richardson has been an outstanding figure in American sociology of religion for decades, and is considered to be one of the most prominent figures in the field of law and religion in the World. He is also a known scientific critic of brainwashing theories.

Mortimer Newlin Stead Sellers is Regents Professor of the University System of Maryland, Elkins Professor of the University System of Maryland, Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law, and past President of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR). His work primarily concerns the philosophy of law, legal theory, and global justice with an emphasis on international law, constitutional law, comparative law and legal history. He has been a Regents Professor of the University System of Maryland since 2003, the highest honor in the UM System. Sellers is best known for his books on republican legal and political philosophy, global justice, international law, and universal human rights. He has been Director of the University of Baltimore Center for International and Comparative Law since 1994.
Peer Zumbansen is the inaugural Professor of Business Law at the Faculty of Law of McGill University. Before joining McGill in January 2021, Zumbansen held the inaugural Chair in Transnational Law at The Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London. At King's, he served as the founding Director of the Transnational Law Institute, and the faculty co-director of the Transnational Law Summer Institute [TLSI]. Since 2018, he is Co-Director of the Transnational Law Institute, together with Dr Emily Barritt and Dr Octavio Ferraz, both of the Dickson Poon School of Law.
