Gwio Kura is a town in north-east Yobe State, Nigeria, [1] administered by the Bade Local Government. It is located about 50 kilometres south of the border with Niger.

On 24 April 2021 terrorists from ISWAP seized Geidam killing 11 people, and over 6,000 residents were displaced. However, the Nigerian Armed Forces retook the town after an offensive against the terrorists.

Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai representing Yobe South, Ibrahim Gaidam representing Yobe East and Ahmad Lawan representing Yobe North all won on the platform of All Progressives Congress.
