Habib Ahmad was a Pakistani scientist, a professor of Genetics and vice-chancellor of Islamia College, Peshawar in Peshawar, Pakistan. [1] [2] [3]
Ahmad was born in Matta village in Swat District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. [1] He was educated at the Government High School in Matta and passed his matriculation exam in 1975. He graduated from Jahanzeb College in Saidu Sharif in 1981. Then, he received an MSc and MPhil in botany in 1985 and 1991 respectively from the Department of Botany at University of Peshawar, and a PhD from University of the Punjab in 2003. After graduating, he joined Hazara University as a professor in 2005, and has been the vice-chancellor of this university since 28 July 2016. [1] [2]
Ahmad is the author of more than ten books and 217 research papers. He also has more than 30 years' experience in teaching, research and development. [1]
Some years ago, he served at the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council in Islamabad, Pakistan. He played a role in the Cytogenetics Program where he contributed to the establishment and strengthening of a Cytogenetics lab. [1]
He has been leading an effort towards an international research project for production of vaccines against Dengue virus. [1]

He died on 7 April 2021 after an ailment for several days. His funeral was observed at his hometown Matta, Swat, Pakistan.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, commonly abbreviated as KP or KPK, is a province of Pakistan. Miangul Jahan Zeb HPk, HQA, CIE, also known as Miangul Abdul-Haq Jahan Zeb, was the Wāli of Swat from 1949 to 1969, a princely state that is now part of Pakistan. He succeeded his father, Wadud of Swat. He is remembered for building schools, hospitals, and roads, but also for his absolute rule over the region, which ended in 1969. When Pakistan came into being, Wadud of Swat declared the accession of Swat State to Pakistan on November 23, 1947. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Governor-General of Pakistan, accepted the Instrument of Accession on November 24, 1947. Wadud of Swat announced his resignation in favor of his son Jehanzeb. Jahanzeb also worked to protect the landmarks of previous cultures.

Nawab Khan Bahadur Sahibzada Sir Abdul Qayyum Khan KCIE, hailing from Topi, Swabi District, British India was an educationist and politician. Qayyum Khan helped Mortimer Durand during his negotiation of the Durand Line agreement with Afghanistan in 1893. Qayyum Khan became the first Chief Minister of the North-West Frontier Province on 1 April 1937. He had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 2018 till January 2023, when he, as Chief Minister, dissolved the Assembly.
