"Halloween" is a song by Dave Matthews Band from the 1998 album Before These Crowded Streets . The song was originally released as a live track on their Recently EP in 1994. It debuted live on Halloween of 1992 and was originally titled "The Halloween Song." It opened the show, and included Kristen Asbury on vocals. The debut was different from newer versions of Halloween, and it is also the longest version of the song (12:07) to date. [1]
"Halloween" is the only track on Before These Crowded Streets not to have lyrics included in the CD cover.
Dave Matthews Band is an American rock band formed in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1991. The band's lineup originally consisted of Dave Matthews, Stefan Lessard (bass), Carter Beauford, Boyd Tinsley, and LeRoi Moore (saxophonist). As of 2024, Matthews, Lessard, and Beauford are the only remaining founding members.

The album was produced by Steve Lillywhite, his last collaboration with the group until 2012's Away from the World. Recording took place at The Plant Recording Studios in Sausalito, California and Electric Lady Studios in New York.
Tim Reynolds is an American guitarist and multi-instrumentalist known as both a solo artist and as lead guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band. AllMusic critic MacKenzie Wilson has called Reynolds "an under-rated master".
Live at Luther College is a live album by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds recorded at the Center for Faith and Life at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Recorded on February 6, 1996, and released nearly three years later, it was the first concert recording by the pair to be made available commercially. The album features several previously unreleased or rare tracks, including "What Will Become of Me?", which would later be used as the basis for the song "Pantala Naga Pampa" on the 1998 studio album Before These Crowded Streets. Six songs would appear on the studio album Crash, released later in 1996.
Recently is an EP by the Dave Matthews Band, released in 1994. All songs are live recordings. "Recently" is an edit of the live version found on Remember Two Things, recorded at The Flood Zone in Richmond, VA on August 10, 1993; "Dancing Nancies" and "Warehouse" were recorded at The Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia on February 21, 1994; "All Along the Watchtower" and "Halloween" were recorded at Trax in Charlottesville, Virginia on February 22, 1994.

The song originated from "John the Revelator," a song written by Dave Matthews with the help from Carlos Santana. Matthews and Santana wrote "John the Revelator" as a love song about someone calling out to their unattainable lover. The "John the Revelator" lines that originally appeared in the song were suggested by Santana who got the idea from the traditional gospel song of the same name.

The Best of What's Around Vol. 1 is a compilation album by Dave Matthews Band. It was released on November 7, 2006 through RCA Records. Despite its title, it is the only greatest hits album by the group. The first disc consists of tracks from the band's first six studio albums, while the second disc consists of previously unreleased live recordings. The album sold 65,000 copies in its first week, earning the number 10 spot on the Billboard 200. It was certified Gold on February 1, 2007.

A live version of "Everyday" is featured on the Dave Matthews Band compilation album The Best of What's Around Vol. 1. "The Stone" is a Dave Matthews Band song from the album Before These Crowded Streets. A ballad about mistakes and forgiveness, it features distinct backing by the Kronos Quartet. It contains lush orchestrations which were arranged by trumpeter John D'earth.
"Anyone Seen the Bridge?" is an instrumental by the Dave Matthews Band, usually played as segue between two songs during a concert. It is an instrumental jam played by the entire band, with scat singing by Dave Matthews. Performances of the tune today typically are heard between "So Much to Say" and "Too Much," and last around a minute and a half. The tune has been very popular during concerts since its debut, and has currently been played live over 400 times.
"Pig" is a Dave Matthews Band song from the album Before These Crowded Streets. The song evolved from an earlier tune entitled "Don't Burn the Pig", which was written about a television program Dave Matthews viewed in England where pigs were burned to test their reaction to pain. After 11 live performances between 1996 and 1998, "Don't Burn the Pig" was recorded in the studio during the Before These Crowded Streets sessions, and then the song reworked itself into "Pig", with the same notion in mind; however, it interpreted more of a carpe diem theme.
Warehouse is a song by Dave Matthews Band which was released on their first studio album, Under the Table and Dreaming. A live performance of the song was also released on their early EP Recently. This song ranks near the top of the list in terms of all time fan favorites. It’s been played since the very beginning and has remained a highlight of nearly every show in which it is played.

"All Day" and "(Every Day Is) Halloween" are songs by American band Ministry, both written and produced by Al Jourgensen. These were originally released by Wax Trax! Records in 1985 as Ministry's “comeback” single following their departure from Arista Records, with "All Day" on the A-side and "(Every Day Is) Halloween" on the B-side, respectively. In 1987, these were included on Ministry's compilation Twelve Inch Singles (1981–1984). The remixed version of "All Day", titled “All Day Remix”, was featured on Ministry's 1986 album Twitch. “(Every Day Is) Halloween” has been featured in the 1998 Rhino Records compilation Just Can't Get Enough: New Wave Halloween.
