Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sunusi CFR (born February 26, 1979), is a Nigerian monarch who is the current Emir of Dutse, the capital city of Jigawa State in the Northern Nigeria. He was appointed as the 22nd Emir of Dutse in 2024, following the death of his father, Nuhu Muhammad-Sanusi, who was the 21st Emir of Dutse He spent his early years in Kano State before relocating to Jigawa in 1995, following his father's ascension to the position of Emir of Dutse. Early life and education

Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sunusi's educational journey began in Kano, where he attended Kano Capital School and later Airforce Primary School for his nursery and primary education. He continued his secondary education at Crescent International and later graduated from Federal Government College Kano. Following his basic education, he pursued higher studies abroad, earning both a first degree and a master's degree from a Malaysian university. In 2006, he completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the National Assembly in Abuja upon returning to Nigeria. [7] He held the title Dan Iyan Dutse before he became Emir in 2023.He was awarded the National honor Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) on 28 May 2023 by President Muhammadu Buhari

Career

Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sunusi embarked on an entrepreneurial career initially but later transitioned into the field of engineering, a passion he had held for a long time.He Was the Head of business development at Bilyak Consulting from 2007 to 2011.He also worked with SMD Consulting from 2011 to 2016 as Head of the Northern Region before he finally became the Managing Director of HMS Energies Limited.

Muhammadu Sanusi II, ; born 31 July 1961), known by the religious title Khalifa Sanusi II, is the spiritual leader (khalifa) of the Tijanniyah Sufi order in Nigeria and the emir of the ancient city-state of Kano. He is a member of the Dabo dynasty and the grandson of Muhammadu Sanusi I. He succeeded his great-uncle Ado Bayero to the throne on 8 June 2014, assuming the regnal name Muhammadu Sanusi II. He spent most of his reign advocating for cultural reform in Northern Nigeria. In 2020, he was deposed by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and was succeeded by his cousin Aminu Ado Bayero. On 23 May 2024, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf reinstated him.

Brigadier General Ibrahim Aliyu was the Military Administrator of Jigawa State from December 1993 to August 1996 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha.

The Daura Emirate is a religious and traditional state in Northern Nigeria, the Emir of Daura still rules as a ceremonial hereditary monarch, and maintains a palace. Muhammad Bashar became the emir in 1966, reigning for 41 years until his death in 2007, On 28 February 2007, Umar Faruk Umar became Emir of Daura succeeding Muhammad Bashar.

The Dambazawa are a Fulani clan residing mainly in Kano State, Nigeria. They were among the key promoters, planners and executors of the Fulani Jihad in Kano, which took place between 1804 and 1807 under the leadership of Shehu Usuman dan Fodiyo. Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya is the current Emir of Gaya, one of the four new Emirates created by Governor Ganduje's administration in 2019. He was appointed by the Kano State Government on September 26, 2021, following the death of his father, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir, who was the first Emir of Gaya. Ibrahim Aliyu was the Chiroman Gaya, a titleholder, before his ascension to the throne. He is the head of the Gaya Emirate. He is also a member of the Kano State Council of Emirs, which advises the Governor on matters of traditional administration and security.
