He has been elected in Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election in 2018 from Mylliem constituency as candidate of People's Democratic Front. He was Minister of Municipal Administration, Urban Affairs, Information Technology and Communication in Conrad Sangma ministry from 2018. [1] [2] [3]

His father was former Chief Minister, former Speaker of the Lok Sabha P. A. Sangma. He was also the Member of Parliament from Tura (2016–2018). He represents the South Tura constituency since 2018 and selsella constituency from 2008 to 2013. Sangma was also minister of finance,power and tourism, Government of Meghalaya from 2008 to 2009. He is former leader of the opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. He also served as National President of Nationalist Youth Congress.

Martin M. Danggo is an Indian politician from the state of Meghalaya who serves as the current Minister of Public Works Department (Roads) in the Government of Meghalaya, and represents the 35th Ranikor Scheduled Tribe (ST) constituency in the South West Khasi Hills district in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. Danggo was first elected to the Assembly as a representative of the People's Democratic Movement (PDM) in the 1998 Assembly election for the Langrin (ST) constituency. He switched parties to the Indian National Congress and was re-elected in 2003. In 2018 he resigned from the INC and joined the National People's Party.

Evansius Kek Mawlong was an Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya from 8 March 2000, until 8 December 2001. He was the main architect in the formation of the United Democratic Party in Meghalaya and was its Founding President.

The North-East Democratic Alliance is a political coalition that was formed on May 24, 2016, by Bharatiya Janata Party. The motive of the new political front was to protect the interest of the people of the region as well as uniting non-Congress parties in Northeast India. The Hill People's Union was a political party in the state of Meghalaya in India. It was founded in 1985. The founders were 11 members from the All Party Hill Leaders Conference and Hill State People's Democratic Party (HSPDP) who joined together after the fall of the earlier short-lived coalition government formed by the two parties, which had won 31 seats in the 1983 Meghalaya Legislative Assembly elections. It was once "one of the three major regional parties" in the state. In the 1988 elections, under the leadership of Brington Buhai Lyngdoh, the party won 19 seats in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. In the 1993 elections it fell to eleven seats. In 1997 its members joined with the HSPDP and the Public Demands Implementation Convention to form the United Democratic Party.

Samlin Malngiang is a Hill State People's Democratic Party politician from Meghalaya. He has been elected in Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election in 2018 from Sohiong constituency as candidate of Hill State People's Democratic Party. He was Minister of Public Health Engineering, Secretariat Administration, Legal Metrology in Conrad Sangma ministry from 2018.

Banteidor Lyngdoh is a People's Democratic Front politician from Meghalaya. He has been elected in Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election in 2018 from Mawkynrew constituency as candidate of People's Democratic Front. He was Minister of Horticulture, Agriculture, Sericulture & Weaving, Sports & Youth Affairs in Conrad Sangma ministry from 2018.
