Handle Magazine was an Australian basketball magazine published in Australia. It was, along with Hoopcity , the only Australian basketball magazine being published. Handle Magazine was in circulation between 2005 and 2009. [1]
Handle Magazine was first published in September 2005. [2] The magazine was part of FKP Universal Exports. [2] It was published bi-monthly. [1] Even though it was an Australian publication it still had a few NBA articles and interviews. Brad Graham served as the editor-in-chief and art direct of the bi-monthly. [1] Dov Kornits was the publisher of the magazine [3] of which the last issue appeared in March 2009. [4]

Mills was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 55th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft after playing two years of college basketball for Saint Mary's. Mills was born and raised in Canberra, Australia, and is of Torres Strait Islander, Aboriginal Australian and Maori descent. In 2007, he became only the third Indigenous basketball player to play for Australia behind Olympians Michael Ah Matt (1964) and Danny Morseu (1980–84).
The 1998–99 NBA lockout was the third lockout of four in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA). It lasted from July 1, 1998, to January 20, 1999, and forced the 1998–99 regular season to be shortened to 50 games per team and that season's All-Star Game to be canceled. NBA owners reopened the league's collective bargaining agreement (CBA) in March 1998, seeking changes to the league's salary cap system and a ceiling on individual player salaries. The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) opposed the owners' plans and wanted raises for players who earned the league's minimum salary. After the two sides failed to reach an agreement, the owners began the lockout.
