Senator Lines

Hanjin-Senator was achieved by combining the container fleets of Hanjin Shipping and Senator Lines, making Hanjin-Senator the eighth largest container shipping company in the world. Hanjin was Senator's majority shareholder; the two companies are run separately but combine their fleet numbers for statistical purposes.

The German subsidiary carrier Senator Lines announced on February 4, 2009 that they would be ceasing operations due to the economic downturn. [1] [2]

Senator Lines was a German based container transportation and shipping company headquartered in Bremen. The company was formed in 1994 with the merger of DSR-Lines GmbH (Rostock) and Senator Linie GmbH & Co. KG (Bremen).

Hanjin Shipping Co., Ltd. was a South Korean integrated logistics and container transport company. Prior to its liquidation, Hanjin Shipping was South Korea's largest container line and one of the world's top ten container carriers in terms of capacity.

Overseas Containers Limited (OCL) was a container shipping company formed by a consortium of British shipping companies in 1965. It was taken over by P&O in 1986. It is not to be confused with Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL).

HMM (company)

HMM is the world's 8th largest container line in terms of vessel capacity. HMM moves the largest portion of South Korea's exports, becoming the number one Korean national containers carrier, especially since Hanjin Shipping was declared bankrupt and ordered to be liquidated. As of 2020, HMM has built and launched the worlds two largest container ships in terms of TEU capacity, the HMM Algeciras with a maximum TEU capacity of 23,964, and the HMM Copenhagen with a maximum capacity of 23,820 TEU.

Hanjin Venezia

The Hanjin Venezia, formerly named the Cosco Busan, is a 275 m (902 ft) container ship. On 7 November 2007, it collided with the protective fender of the Delta Tower of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge in heavy fog. The collision sliced open two of its fuel tanks and led to the Cosco Busan oil spill in San Francisco Bay. She was renamed the Hanjin Venezia after the accident.

Moore-McCormack

The Moore-McCormack Lines was a series of companies operating as shipping lines, operated by the Moore-McCormack Company, Incorporated, later Moore-McCormack Lines, Incorporated, and simply Mooremack, founded in 1913 in New York City. It ceased trading on its buy-out in 1982. The founders were Albert V. Moore (1880–1953) (director/president) and Emmet J. McCormack (director/treasurer), with Mr Molloy (director/secretary).

Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Philippines, known as HHIC Phil, was established in February 2006 by Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction of South Korea. In the same month, the first ship building contract was signed for 4 container ships. In May 2006, the construction of a shipyard began on Redondo Peninsula - on the northern edge of Subic Bay.

Maersk Line

Maersk Line is a Danish international container shipping company and the largest operating subsidiary of the Maersk Group, a Danish business conglomerate. It is the world's largest container shipping company by both fleet size and cargo capacity, offering regular services to 374 ports in 116 countries. It employs approximately 31,600 where 7,000 of which are vessel crew and the other 24,600 are processing personnel. Maersk Line operates over 786 vessels and has a total capacity of 4.1 million TEU. The company was founded in 1928.

Cosco Shipping Chinese shipping and logistics services supplier

China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited - abbreviated as COSCO SHIPPING - is a Chinese multinational transportation service and real estate conglomerate headquartered in Shanghai. The group's core businesses are marine transportation and stevedoring. COSCO SHIPPING was established in January 2016 by the merger of COSCO and China Shipping.

Northwest Seaport Alliance

The Northwest Seaport Alliance is a port authority based in the Puget Sound region of the United States, comprising the seaports of Seattle and Tacoma in Washington state. The combined port authority is the third largest cargo port in the United States and by container volume.
