Hans Aarsman (born 27 December 1951) [1] is a Dutch photographer, author, and lecturer at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. Many of Aarsman's works are held in the collection of the Netherlands Photo Museum as well as the Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. [1] [2] [3]
Aarsman was born in 1951 in Amsterdam. [1] He started his career as a photojournalist for the Dutch newspaper Trouw. In 1989 he published the book Hollandse Taferelen which consisted of landscapes photographed from the roof of a camper which he pulled through the Netherlands for a year. In 1990–1991 he finished a photo series of East German states.
As of 2004 [update] he was an editor of the magazine Useful Photography. [4] He exhibited work at the Rencontres d'Arles festival in Arles, France in 2011.
Aarsman also is a novelist and playwright. His debut literary work was Twee hoofden, een kussen (1995) and more recently[ when? ] he has been dedicating himself more to writing than photography.

Ans Wortel was a Dutch painter, poet and writer. She made gouaches and oil paintings, aquarelles, drawings, collages, lithographs, etchings, sculptures and glass sculptures. She was an autodidact and won the first prize at the biennale of Paris in 1963. She was one of the leading female artists of postwar Dutch modern art. Nico Jesse was a Dutch humanist photographer and photojournalist and later a commercial and advertising photographer. Originally a physician, he combined his work as a doctor with his passion for photography until, in 1955, he gave up his medical practice to devote himself exclusively to photography, producing imagery for several companies’ annual reports and business documents. He also made a large number of books about cities and countries in Europe and mounted exhibitions of the images, the most famous being Women of Paris (1954), and contributed to a mass observation project of Nazi-occupied Utrecht. Erik Kessels (1966) is a Dutch artist, designer and curator with a particular interest in photography, and co-founder of KesselsKramer, an advertising agency in Amsterdam. Kessels and Johan Kramer established the "legendary and unorthodox" KesselsKramer in 1996, and KesselsKramer Publishing, their Amsterdam-based publishing house.
