Hans Raj Dogra (died August 1999) was an Indian politician and member of the Indian National Congress . Dogra was a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly from Doda constituency in 1972. [1] [2] [3]

The Tākri script is an abugida writing system of the Brahmic family of scripts. It is derived from the Sharada script of Kashmiri language. It is the sister script of Laṇḍā scripts. It has another variant Dogra Takri employed in Jammu region. There are numerous varieties present throughout Punjab. Until the late 1940s, the adapted version of the script was the official script for writing Dogri in the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. Throughout the history, different kingdoms of what now forms Himachal Pradesh used their own variety to maintain their records. The Takri script used in Sirmour in Himachal Pradesh and in the adjacent region of Jaunsar-Bawar in Uttarakhand has some distinction.

Brigadier Rajinder Singh Jamwal, MVC, also remembered as the Saviour of Kashmir, was an officer in the Jammu and Kashmir State Forces. He briefly served as the Chief of Staff of State Forces and died fighting during the First Kashmir War. Rajinder Singh and his small contingent of about 200 men successfully delayed the advance of a much larger force of Pakistani tribal raiders near Uri for several days, during which the Maharaja of Kashmir acceded to India and the Indian forces air-lifted for the defence of Kashmir.

Maqbool Sherwani was a National Conference member who delayed the invasion of Pashtuns tribesmen from Pakistan in Baramulla, Kashmir in October 1947. In this manner, he played an important role in buying time for Indian Army's Sikh Regiment troops who landed in Srinagar once the accession was accepted. Sherwani was killed by the tribesmen.

He won three elections serving as MLA for Ramnagar, constituency for 18 continuous years from 1996 till 2014. Under his tenure as the Minister of Education of Jammu and Kashmir from 2002 to 2008, English became a compulsory language from first grade. Harsh Dev joined Aam Aadmi Party on 7 May 2022, and on 17 October 2022 he became APP chairman in Jammu and Kashmir. On 16 Feb 2023, he resigned from APP and rejoined Panthers Party to revive it. On April 4, he was elected President of Panthers Party.

Durga Dass is an Indian politician and member of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party. Dass was a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly from the Hiranagar constituency in Kathua district.

Hiranagar Assembly constituency is one of the 87 constituencies in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir a north Indian union territory. Hiranagar is also part of Jammu Lok Sabha constituency.

Elections in India in 2023 were held in the Rajya Sabha, state legislative assemblies of nine states and several local bodies.

Ghulam Qadir Wani was a Member of the Legislative Assembly in the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, representing the Doda Assembly constituency.
