Kristen Nygaard was a Norwegian computer scientist, programming language pioneer, and politician. Internationally, Nygaard is acknowledged as the co-inventor of object-oriented programming and the programming language Simula with Ole-Johan Dahl in the 1960s. Nygaard and Dahl received the 2001 A. M. Turing Award for their contribution to computer science.
Vålerenga Fotball is a Norwegian professional football club from Oslo, and a part of the multi-sport club Vålerengens IF. The club currently competes in the Norwegian first division after being relegated from the Eliteserien in 2023. Founded in 1913, the club is named after the neighbourhood of Vålerenga. Vålerenga's home ground is Intility Arena, located in Valle-Hovin. Vålerenga are five-time league champions and four-time Norwegian Football Cup champions, having last won the league in 2005 and the cup in 2008. Vålerenga is generally considered to be the largest football club in Oslo.

Red Electoral Alliance was an alliance of far-left groups formed into a Norwegian political party to promote revolutionary socialism ideals into the Norwegian parliament. The party dissolved itself on 10 March 2007, when it participated in the founding of a new party, Red (Rødt).

Audun Bjørlo Lysbakken is a Norwegian politician who served as the leader of the Norwegian Socialist Left Party from 2012 to 2023. His career in national politics began when he was elected to the Norwegian parliament in 2001. In 2006, he became deputy leader of the Socialist Left Party. He held the post as Minister of Children and Equality in Jens Stoltenberg's second government from October 2009 to March 2012, when he resigned due to a conflict of interest. Under his leadership, the Socialist Left Party had strong gains in its vote share in Parliamentary elections and membership.

Marit Helene Fiane Grødum is a Norwegian former football central back. Christensen married Øystein Grødum on 31 August 2013 and changed her name to Marit Helene Fiane Grødum. Her last club was Amazon Grimstad of Norway's Toppserien league. She was member of the Norway women's national football team, having made her debut on 16 March 2003, in a match against the United States.
Amund Bredesen Larsen was a Norwegian linguist. He was one of the first to study Norwegian dialects and made the first dialect map of any Nordic country.

Bjørnar Moxnes is a Norwegian politician and activist representing the left-wing political party, the Red Party in the Storting. Moxnes opposes the European Union, characterizing Norway's participation in the EEA as undemocratic. Moxnes describes himself as a socialist. He served as the leader of the Red Party from 2012 to 2023, when he resigned in the wake of stealing a pair of sunglasses from a shop at Oslo Airport Gardermoen. Moxnes had previously served as the party's deputy leader from 2010 to 2012.
Båtsfjord Airport is a former regional airport located at Båtsfjorddalen just south of the village of Båtsfjord in Båtsfjord Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. It consisted of an 800-by-30-meter gravel runway aligned 01–19 and had a simple terminal building. Construction of the airport was started a local aviation club in 1972 and was completed with a 600-meter (2,000 ft) runway in May 1973. The runway was extended the following year and in 1976 the airport was municipalized. From the start Norving operated air taxi and air ambulance flights. Following an upgraded terminal in 1978, the taxi services became scheduled and the Britten-Norman Islander was introduced to Kirkenes and Vadsø. From 1983 the Dornier 228 entered service on the Båtsfjord route.
Anarchism in Norway first emerged in the 1870s. Some of the first to call themselves anarchists in Norway were Arne Garborg and Ivar Mortensson-Egnund. They ran the radical target magazine Fedraheimen which came out 1877–91. Gradually the magazine became more and more anarchist-oriented, and towards the end of its life it had the subtitle Anarchist-Communist Body. The anarchist author Hans Jæger published the book "The Bible of Anarchy" in 1906, and in recent times Jens Bjørneboe has been a spokesman for anarchism – among other things in the book "Police and anarchy".
The Liberal Students of Norway is the political student organization of the Norwegian Liberal Party (Venstre), with chapters in the major university cities of Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Ås. It was founded in 1908, making it one of Norway's oldest student organizations.
The Lillestrøm–Vålerenga rivalry is a football rivalry in Norway between Lillestrøm SK and Vålerenga Fotball. It has been referred to as the biggest derby match in Norway. Vålerenga are located in the east of the capital of Oslo, while Lillestrøm are located just outside of the capital, in Lillestrøm municipality. Both Lillestrøm and Vålerenga are among the most successful clubs in Norwegian football, having won 11 and 9 titles respectively. They have both played over 1,000 matches in the Norwegian top division.
