The Hardacre Film Festival is a film festival held annually in Tipton, Iowa and is considered to be Iowa's longest-running film festival. The festival was founded in 1997 by Troy Peters and is typically held in August, showing independent films from all over the world. [1] [2] [3]

A feature film or theatrical film is a film with a running time long enough to be considered the principal or sole film to fill a program. The term feature film originally referred to the main, full-length film in a cinema program that also included a short film and often a newsreel. The notion of how long a feature film should be has varied according to time and place. According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the American Film Institute and the British Film Institute, a feature film runs for at least 45 minutes, while the Screen Actors Guild asserts that a feature's running time is 75 minutes or longer.

A short film is any motion picture not long enough to be considered a feature film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of 40 minutes or less, including all credits". In the United States, short films were generally termed short subjects from the 1920s into the 1970s when confined to two 35mm reels or less, and featurettes for a film of three or four reels. "Short" was an abbreviation for either term.

Documentary film nonfictional motion picture

A documentary film is a nonfictional motion picture intended to document some aspect of reality, primarily for the purposes of instruction, education, or maintaining a historical record. "Documentary" has been described as a "filmmaking practice, a cinematic tradition, and mode of audience reception" that is continually evolving and is without clear boundaries. Documentary films were originally called 'actuality' films and were only a minute or less in length. Over time documentaries have evolved to be longer in length and to include more categories, such as educational, observational, and even 'docufiction'. Documentaries are also educational and often used in schools to teach various principles. Social media platforms such as YouTube, have allowed documentary films to improve the ways the films are distributed and able to educate and broaden the reach of people who receive the information.

Telugu cinema, also known by its sobriquet Tollywood, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Telugu language, based in Film Nagar, a neighborhood of Hyderabad, Telangana. KZIA radio station

KZIA, known as "Z 102.9", is a radio station based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Nicholas Britell is an American composer, pianist, and film producer based in New York City. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Score and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score for the film Moonlight (2016). In 2018 Britell re-teamed with Moonlight director Barry Jenkins on the film If Beale Street Could Talk (2018) and was again nominated for Best Original Score at the 2019 Academy Awards. In 2018 Britell also scored Adam McKay's film Vice which gained 8 Academy Award nominations in 2019, including Best Picture. 2018 also marked Britell's entry into television by scoring all 10 episodes of the HBO Original Series Succession for which he took home the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Score - TV Show/Limited Series.

Hardacre Theater former theater and movie theater in Tipton, Iowa, United States

The Hardacre Theater is a historic building located in the central business district of Tipton, Iowa, United States. The theater was originally built as an opera house and its construction was funded by the estate of Jacob Hardacre. Hardacre was a member of a fraternal organization, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.), and it was stipulated that the building was to be used for their functions as well. The theater was opened in 1914, and it was converted into a movie house in 1919. There is seating for 264 on the main floor and an additional 132 seats in the balcony. The present marquee was erected by the Iowa Neon Sign Company of Des Moines in 1948. The I.O.O.F. sold the theater to Louie and Virginia Cook in 1978. It continued to serve as a movie theater, and it hosted its own film festival until it closed in August 2013. The Hardacre Theater Preservation Association bought the theater in 2014. They are renovating the theater to accommodate digital movie equipment, to return it to a live performing arts theater, and to provide space to host community events. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

91st Academy Awards award ceremony

The 91st Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored the best films of 2018, and took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The ceremony was held on February 24, 2019. During the ceremony, AMPAS presented Academy Awards in 24 categories. The ceremony was televised in the United States by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), produced by Donna Gigliotti and Glenn Weiss, with Weiss also serving as director. It was the first ceremony in three decades, since the 61st Academy Awards in 1989, to be conducted with no host.
