The Hardcore Hall of Fame is a hall of fame located within 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that was established to honor the careers of professional wrestlers and wrestling personalities who contributed to the history of 2300 Arena and hardcore wrestling.

Contents

History

The Hall of Fame was established in 2002 following the death of former Extreme Championship Wrestling star Rocco Rock, who suffered a fatal heart attack while traveling to 2300 Arena for a match with Pro-Pain Pro Wrestling. [1]

They are best known for their time in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) where Joel Gertner was their manager. Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) was an American professional wrestling promotion that was based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and operated by its parent company HHG Corporation. The promotion was founded in 1992 by Tod Gordon as National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) affiliate Eastern Championship Wrestling. The following year, businessman and wrestling manager Paul Heyman took over the creative end of the promotion from Eddie Gilbert. The Pitbull/Public Enemy Memorial Cup was a professional wrestling memorial event produced by the Pro Wrestling Unplugged (PWU) promotion, which took place on October 20, 2006, at Viking Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The show was held in honor of the deceased members of The Pitbulls and The Public Enemy, both popular tag teams during the early years of Extreme Championship Wrestling, and featured some of the top tag teams on the independent circuit in an 8-team tournament. In keeping with ECW tradition, all matches were no-countout/no-disqualification. Twelve professional wrestling matches were featured on the event's card, with three including championships.

Memphis Power Pro Wrestling was a Memphis, Tennessee based professional wrestling promotion that was founded by Randy Hales. It was affiliated with Memphis Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Federation. It was the first developmental territory for the World Wrestling Federation. The roster featured WWF-contracted wrestlers sent for training and experience like Kurt Angle and Matt Bloom (Tensai/Albert), Daniel Bryan and Memphis wrestling legends Bill Dundee and Jerry Lawler, Brian Christopher and many others.
