Harry Erwin Bard (August 27, 1867 - July 13, 1955) was secretary of the Pan American Society of the United States. [1] He was also an author on education specializing in South America. [2] [3]

He was born on August 27, 1867, in Montgomery County, [4] Indiana. He died in 1955 in New York at age 87. [3]

He was "the only person known to have formally dissented from the use of the atomic bomb without advance warning."
