Luca Congi is a former professional Canadian football punter/placekicker. He was drafted 12th overall by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2006 CFL Draft. He played CIS football at Simon Fraser University for the Simon Fraser Clan.
John Chick is a former professional Canadian football defensive end who played eight seasons in the Canadian Football League, primarily with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. After signing with Saskatchewan in 2007, he was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player after the 2009 CFL season. He would help the team capture the Grey Cup twice, in 2007 and 2013. Chick has also spent time in the National Football League (NFL) with the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. Prior to playing professional football, Chick played college football for the Utah State Aggies. During his senior season with the Aggies, Chick recorded 12.5 quarterback sacks, good enough for fifth overall in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Chick also played for the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Edmonton Eskimos later in his career.

On June 24, 2012, Tisdale was traded to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for Hamilton's third-round and sixth-round draft picks in 2014.
Michael Carter is a professional Canadian football defensive back for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was drafted 19th overall by the BC Lions in the 2011 CFL Draft, but was released after training camp. He subsequently signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on June 27, 2011. Carter was released near the end of the 2011 CFL season on October 26, 2011. It was announced that Carter had signed with the Montreal Alouettes on January 27, 2011. After a three-year stint with the Alouettes, he signed with the Roughriders on February 25, 2015. He played college football for the Maryland Terrapins. He played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League prior to being released on August 15, 2015. On September 15, 2015, Carter signed with the Edmonton Eskimos as a free agent and was added to their practice roster. He was later released by the Eskimos on November 30, 2015. On August 17, 2016, Carter was signed by the Toronto Argonauts.

The 2013 CFL Draft took place on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 12:00 PM ET on TSN. 60 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. The Montreal Alouettes had the most selections with nine, followed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats with eight. Each of the West Division teams had seven picks while Winnipeg had six. The defending Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts had five picks and Ottawa chose four players from NCAA schools that would play another year. A total of 16 trades were made involving draft picks from this year, including two made on draft day itself, with 12 being made by the Edmonton Eskimos. Of the 60 draft selections, 44 players were drafted from Canadian Interuniversity Sport institutions, which is the highest number of CIS players taken since the 1987 CFL Draft when 50 of 72 were taken. It is also the highest percentage (73.3%) of CIS players taken since 2009.

The 2018 Saskatchewan Roughriders season was the 61st season for the team in the Canadian Football League. It was the club's 109th year overall, and its 103rd season of play. The Roughriders improved upon their 10–8 record from 2017 with a 12–6 record and qualified for the playoffs for the second consecutive year. The team hosted the first ever playoff game at the new Mosaic Stadium, but lost to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the West Semi-Final. This was the third season under head coach and general manager Chris Jones.
The 2019 Ottawa Redblacks season will be the sixth season for the team in the Canadian Football League. The Redblacks will attempt to qualify for the playoffs for the fifth straight year and win their second Grey Cup in franchise history and 11th in professional Ottawa football history. This will be the sixth season with Marcel Desjardins as general manager and Rick Campbell as head coach.
