The Hasanvand (also spelled Hasanavand and Hasanwand) are a Lur Laki-speaking tribe mainly settled in the Lorestan province of Iran. According to a 2008 census from the Statistical Center of Iran, the Hasanvand had 1,121 households in their summer pasture in Lorestan. [1]
The Medes were an ancient Iranian people who spoke the Median language and who inhabited an area known as Media between western and northern Iran. Around the 11th century BC, they occupied the mountainous region of northwestern Iran and the northeastern and eastern region of Mesopotamia in the vicinity of Ecbatana. Their consolidation in Iran is believed to have occurred during the 8th century BC. In the 7th century BC, all of western Iran and some other territories were under Median rule, but their precise geographic extent remains unknown.

He had served three terms in the parliament and was expected to have the lead in the parliament election in early 2012. Hasanvand acknowledged to be a member of Ministry of Intelligence and National Security (Iran) during his first election campaign. Contrary to expectations, he lost the 2012 election to a military general and war veteran, Seid Eisa Daraei. The village of Shulabad-e Sofla merged with the former villages of Asar, Del Suran, Derakht Chaman, Khodadadkosh-e Olya, Khodadadkosh-e Sofla, Sarlak, and Shulabad-e Olya, with its name changed to Shulabad upon its elevation to the status of a city.
