Ahmed was elected to parliament from Cox's Bazar-1 in 2008 as a BNP nominee. [1]

Personal life

Ahmed is married to Salahuddin Ahmed, also a fellow BNP politician and two times Jatiya Sangsad member from the same constituency. [2] [3]

Jatiya Sangsad Unicameral legislature of Bangladesh

The Jatiya Sangsad, often referred to simply as the Sangsad or JS and also known as the House of the Nation, is the supreme legislative body of Bangladesh. The current parliament of Bangladesh contains 350 seats, including 50 seats reserved exclusively for women. Elected occupants are called Member of Parliament, or MP.
