Tamirat Tola Abera is an Ethiopian Olympic and world champion long-distance runner who competes in track, road and cross country events. Tamirat competed in the marathon at the 2017 and 2022 World Athletics Championships, earning silver and gold, respectively, setting a championship record at the latter in the process. Tesfaye Abera Dibaba is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who competes in marathons. His personal best of 2:04:24 hours ranks him in the all-time top ten, as of 2016. Fabienne Königstein is a German Marathon and long-distance runner. Her major achievements by now were the 6th place at the World University Games 2017 over the Halfmarathon distance, the German Marathon Title 2018 and the 11th place at the European Athletics Championships 2018 in the Women's Marathon Competition. She also is a several times medalist in German National Championships.

He holds the Canadian all-comers' record in the marathon, having run the fastest marathon ever in Canada of 2:05:00 to win the 2019 Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Rono is a three-time winner of this marathon, having won the race in 2016, 2017 and 2019.
Sutume Asefa Kebede is a long-distance runner from Ethiopia. She won the 2024 Houston Half Marathon, the 2023 Kolkata 25K, the 2019 Beijing Marathon, and the 2024 Tokyo Marathon.
