Ahmad Haziq bin Kutty Abba (born 28 September 2004) is a Malaysian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Malaysia Super League club Penang. He is the younger brother of Malaysia international midfielder Syamer Kutty Abba. [1]
Ahmad Haziq was born in Malaysia. He joined the Penang youth academy and progressed through the ranks, featuring regularly for the reserve side, Penang II. [2]
Ahmad Haziq is known for his versatility and composure in midfield, capable of playing as a box-to-box or deep-lying playmaker. He is recognised for his passing range, tactical positioning, and defensive discipline. [3]
Haziq was promoted to Penang senior squad in 2024 after solid performances with Penang II. He made his Malaysia Super League debut in the same season. On 1 January 2025, he signed a professional contract with Penang FC valid until May 2026. [4]
In the 2023 Sukma Games, he featured as a right-back and helped Penang reach the quarter-finals. [5]
Haziq Kutty Abba has represented Malaysia at the under-23 level. He participated in the ASEAN U-23 Championship. [6]
On 22 August 2023, he made his national team debut in ASEAN U-23 Championship up against Timor Leste U23.
