Head Hits Concrete is a Canadian political grindcore band that formed in April 1999 in Winnipeg. Between 1999 and 2004 the band recorded a cassette demo, 3 EPs and split records with My Minds Mine and Bodies Lay Broken. Head Hits Concrete went on extended hiatus in 2004, [1] [2] but reformed for a show with Brutal Truth in 2010. The band has toured briefly since that date, and released the Hollowed Out Human Husk EP on Mercy of Slumber Records in March 2013.
Prior to going on hiatus, Head Hits Concrete played numerous shows in Winnipeg, including annual extreme music festival Arsonfest, and embarked on one American and one Canadian tour with Fuck the Facts. The band collectively decided to pursue other projects after returning from their western Canadian tour in 2004. Those projects include instrumentalists Prague (Bunio, Boychuk), Putrescence (Alexander), Kursk (Skibinsky), Wolbachia (Skibinsky), Big Trouble in Little China (Bunio, original guitarist Byckal) and L'viv (Boychuk). These projects are in various states of activity.
The Slits were a British punk and post-punk band formed in London in 1976 by members of the groups the Flowers of Romance and the Castrators. The group's early line-up consisted of Ari Up and Palmolive, with Viv Albertine and Tessa Pollitt replacing founding members Kate Korus and Suzy Gutsy. Although widely associated with grunge, the band's sound incorporated hard rock and psychedelic elements. The band released seven studio albums, five EPs, and three compilations.

SNFU was a Canadian hardcore punk band that formed in 1981 in Edmonton, relocated to Vancouver in 1992, and became inactive in 2018. The band released eight full-length studio albums, two live records, and one compilation, and was a formative influence on the skate punk subgenre. Rankings of the best Canadian music have included their work.

The band has released two albums, Straylight Run and The Needles the Space, as well as three EPs, Prepare to Be Wrong, About Time, and Un Mas Dos. In 2010, the band announced that they would be going on indefinite hiatus, but might reunite in the future. Two of the members, John Nolan and Shaun Cooper, are currently in Taking Back Sunday.

Flowing Tears was a German gothic metal band founded in 2003 in Wadgassen. Their original name was Flowing Tears & Withered Flowers, which they used for their first several releases. The band's final lineup consisted of vocalist Helen Vogt, guitarist/keyboardist Benjamin Buss, bassist David Vogt and drummer Stefan Gemballa.
Geoff Kresge is a songwriter, guitarist, bassist, and record producer. He played with the punk rock/horror punk band AFI for most of their early career, from 1992 through 1997, and co-wrote the majority of their early material alongside frontman Davey Havok. During an AFI hiatus in 1993, he briefly moved to New York to join street punk band Blanks 77. He later went on to play with Canadian horror rock group The Forbidden Dimension and also a high-energy rock band, The Daggers, before subsequently joining the psychobilly band Tiger Army. Though he played an electric bass in his previous bands, for Tiger Army he chose an upright bass.

Disgorge Mexico is the eighth album by Canadian grindcore band Fuck the Facts. It is their second album on Relapse Records from a three-album contract with the label. The instruments were recorded from the 6th to the 17th of August 2007 at Liverpool Court Studios in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The vocals were recorded in November 2007 at Fuck the Facts own home studio. The album was mixed and mastered at CB Audio in Winnipeg from December 2007 until March 2008.
More Than a Thousand was a Portuguese metalcore band that was started in 2001 by Vasco Ramos, Filipe Oliveira, Pedro Pais and Sérgio Sousa. In 2005 they moved to London in attempt to win a larger audience and lived there for four years but later returned to their hometown of Setúbal, Portugal. The band has released three full-length albums: Volume II: The Hollow (2006), Volume IV: Make Friends and Enemies (2010) and Volume V: Lost at Home (2014). The band sings in English. They were signed to Good Fight Records and eOne music, before going on hiatus in April 2016.

The band has gone through multiple line-up changes and its current line-up consists of vocalist Sergio Amalfitano, guitarist Eddie Oropeza and bassist Ryan Corbett and drummer Jorge Luis Herrera. The band's musical style has been mainly labeled as powerviolence, as well as grindcore and hardcore punk with influences from D-beat, crust punk and death metal. The band's aesthetic has been described as "a strange blend of veganism, straight-edge and Satanism."
