Hedgehog is a Chinese indie rock trio formed in 2005 by partners ZO (Zhao Zijian) and Atom (Shi Lu). [2] The band has a strong reputation throughout the country, renowned for their energetic live performances and catchy song writing. [3]

Their musical influences include The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Ramones and Nirvana. [6]

The drummer Atom has been a focal point in the band, known for her small, cute appearance and aggressive drumming style. [3] [7] Atom's name references Astroboy, who is known for his small size and power.

Hedgehog song lyrics are sung in both Mandarin Chinese and English, primarily by ZO. Atom also occasionally sings lead vocals. [7]

In 2011, the band toured the US, with Xiu Xiu where they also recorded [Sun Fun Gun] in New York City, as produced by John Grew and Russell Simins from Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. [2]

B-Side Lovers

Started in 2009, [8] B-Side Lovers was ZO and Atom's two-piece side project whose edgier sound focused more on the songwriting process and instrumental experimentation. [9]

Edwards left the band in 2003, after which the brothers used a number of singers before she rejoined in 2009. They recruit additional members for their live performances and have toured internationally. In 2014 Paul Godfrey resigned from the band. Edwards and Ross Godfrey later formed Skye & Ross and released a self-titled album in September 2016. Their latest studio album as Morcheeba, Blackest Blue, was released in May 2021 and was preceded by singles "Sounds of Blue", "Oh Oh Yeah" and "The Moon". It features collaborations with Brad Barr from The Barr Brothers, and Duke Garwood, whom Edwards described as "a diamond geezer".

Swingin' Utters is a Californian punk rock band that formed in the late 1980s. After U.S. and European tours supporting the release of 2003's "Dead Flowers, Bottles, Bluegrass and Bones", some band members concentrated on raising their new families. Ass Ponys was an indie rock band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Their sound combines rock and country into an off-kilter blend of Americana music. Not from There were an Australian indie rock trio, which formed in 1991 in London, England by Anthony Hills on bass guitar, Simon Lambert on drums and Heinz Riegler on lead guitar and vocals.
