Heiko Lucks is a Namibian politician. A member of the Rally for Democracy and Progress, Lucks was elected to the National Assembly of Namibia in the 2009 general election.
In September 2010, Lucks and eight other opposition politicians were sworn-in as members of the National Assembly following a six-month boycott due to electoral irregularities in the 2009 election. [1]
Theo-Ben Gurirab was a Namibian politician who served in various senior government positions. He served as the second Prime Minister of Namibia from 28 August 2002 to 20 March 2005, following the demotion and subsequent resignation of Hage Geingob. Previously he was the country's first Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1990 to 2002, and was President of the United Nations General Assembly from 1999 to 2000. He was Speaker of the National Assembly of Namibia from 2005 to 2015 when he was replaced by Peter Katjavivi. Gurirab ultimately resigned from politics in 2015.
Hidipo Livius Hamutenya was a Namibian politician. A long time leading member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO), Hamutenya was a member of the Cabinet of Namibia from independence in 1990 to 2004. He was defeated in a bid for the party's presidential nomination in 2004 and left SWAPO to form an opposition group, the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP), in 2007. He was elected to the National Assembly of Namibia with RDP in the 2009 general election. He was forced to step down as RDP President on 28 February 2015 and rejoined SWAPO on 28 August 2015.

The Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) is an opposition political party in Namibia. It was launched on 17 November 2007 under the leadership of Hidipo Hamutenya and Jesaya Nyamu, both former leading members of the ruling SWAPO party and cabinet ministers. Hamutenya had unsuccessfully sought the SWAPO nomination for President in 2004. At the time of the RDP's launch, it was considered to represent the strongest challenge to SWAPO's political dominance since the country gained its independence in 1990. According to Hamutenya, speaking at the RDP's launch, the party was "born in response to our people's deep longing for a vision, political direction and the rekindling of their hopes and aspiration for a better and prosperous future".
Henry Ferdinand Mudge is a Namibian politician and President of the Republican Party. He was the party's only member of the National Assembly of Namibia from 2004 to 2011, when he resigned.
Johannes Jurie Viljoen is a Namibian politician. Viljoen was a member of the 4th National Assembly of Namibia from 2005–2010. From 2005–2010, Viljoen was the only representative of the Monitor Action Group in the National Assembly.
McHenry Venaani is a Namibian politician and the president of the Popular Democratic Movement, a party with sixteen seats in the National Assembly of Namibia and one seat in the National Council of Namibia. Venaani has been a member of the National Assembly from 2002 to 2010, in 2014, and since 2015. At the time of his appointment in 2002, he was Namibia's youngest MP.
Jesaya Nyamu is a Namibian politician. A member of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP), Nyamu was a high level member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) from 1964, when he fled into exile, until 2002, when he was expelled from the party for "disobedience". He was a member of SWAPO's Central Committee from 1975 until his expulsion from the party in 2002. In 2007, he registered a new political party, the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) and was unanimously selected as the party's Secretary General in 2008. He was elected to the National Assembly of Namibia with RDP in the 2009 general election.
Johan Claasen de Waal is a Namibian politician. A member of the Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA), de Waal was a member of the National Assembly of Namibia from 1994–2010. De Waal was placed third on DTA's electoral list ahead of the 2009 general election but lost his seat in the National Assembly after DTA received enough votes for 2 legislators. He resigned as chairperson of DTA in March 2010, citing a need to "move on" and make way for a younger generation. Since then he has focused on business operations.
Jeremia Nambinga is a Namibian politician. Since 2008, Nambinga has been a member of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) and has been its president from 2015 to 2018. A long-serving member of Swapo party, Nambinga was Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and a member of the National Assembly of Namibia from 1995. In 2000 he was transferred to the Ministry of Prisons and Correctional Services where he served as Deputy Minister until 2004. For the following election period he almost missed his place in the National Assembly, being #56 on the SWAPO's party list with 55 seats won. He re-entered as backbencher when Philemon Malima retired soon after the election.
Anton von Wietersheim is a Namibian politician. Wietersheim was a member of the Constituent Assembly of Namibia from 1989 to 1990 and was elected to the National Assembly as a SWAPO candidate in 1990. He served as Minister of Agriculture before resigning in 1993.
Steve Bezuidenhout is a Namibian politician. A Coloured Namibian, Bezuidenhoudt is the Interim President of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP). He joined SWAPO in 1989 and was active until he left to help form the RDP. He was elected to the National Assembly of Namibia as an RDP candidate in the 2009 general election.

Agnes Mundia Limbo is a Namibian politician. A member of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP), she was named the Deputy Secretary of the party at their founding conference in December 2008. She was elected to the National Assembly of Namibia with RDP in the 2009 general election.
Peter Naholo is a Namibian politician and former trade unionist. Naholo was a combatant with the People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN), the military wing of the SWAPO liberation movement. In 2009, he was placed sixth on the National Assembly list for the newly formed Rally for Democracy and Progress and earned a seat in the National Assembly of Namibia. On 14 September 2010, Naholo and 8 other opposition NA members were sworn in after boycotting the National Assembly due to electoral irregularities in the 2009 general election. On 19 October 2010, Naholo gave his first speech a member of the National Assembly; in that speech, Naholo asserted that some SWAPO politicians had enriched themselves through government since independence before being shouted down and asked to withdraw the accusation by Speaker Theo-Ben Gurirab. Later in the same session, several members of SWAPO accused Naholo and other RDP members of enriching themselves while in government as SWAPO members.
Rudolph Kamburona is a Namibian politician. A member of the Rally for Democracy and Progress, Kamburona was 9th on the party's electoral list but was not elected to the National Assembly of Namibia in the 2009 general election. Kamburona served in the 1st and 2nd National Assemblies (1991-2000) as a member of the Democratic Turnhalle Alliance. He was one of the longest-serving members of DTA prior to his resignation in January 2008. He sought to focus on his farming activities, saying, "I cannot be a weekend farmer only and also handle political activities so I had to come to a decision,". He officially announced his affiliation with RDP at a rally in Tsumeb in August 2008. Kamburona is Herero.
Peter Hitjitevi Katjavivi is a Namibian politician who is the Speaker of the National Assembly of Namibia and the chancellor of the Namibia University of Science and Technology. Previously he was the founding Vice-Chancellor of the University of Namibia from 1992 to 2003, Ambassador to the European Union from 2003 to 2006, Ambassador to Germany from 2006 to 2008, and Director General of the National Planning Commission from 2008 to 2010.
