Heini Koivumieni (born 1973) is a Finnish strongwoman competitor who has achieved numerous podium finishes at the World's Strongest Woman contest. [1]

Koivuniemi competed five times in the World's Strongest Woman contests, finishing 2nd in 2001, and third in 2002 and 2003. [1] Koivuniemi has also won Europe's Strongest Woman in 2002, and Finland's Strongest Woman in 2001 and 2003. [1]

Heini was featured in a BBC documentary film entitled "Strongwomen" in 2002. The film documented the training leading up to the 2002 World's Strongest Woman contest, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the actual contest itself. The film also featured American Jill Mills and 2 British competitors including 2002 runner-up Abbey Haigh from Scotland.

Koivuniemi holds a Guinness world record for throwing a beer keg for height, she threw a 12.3 kilograms (27 lb) beer keg over a bar at a height of 3.46 meters (11 ft 4.2in). [2]

Heini also won the 1999 Ms. Galaxy Europe contest in Kokkola, Finland on May 20, 1999. [3] The contest consisted of an obstacle course, and a figure/posing routine. [3]

Mika Koivuniemi

Mika Juhani Koivuniemi is a Finnish bowling coach and semi-retired professional ten-pin bowler. He competed on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) tour in the United States, and won bowling titles in 21 different countries during his career. He is a two-time PBA Player of the Year, one of only three players born outside the USA to win that award. Koivuniemi is the second international player and first European ever elected to the PBA Hall of Fame; he was inducted in 2019. He is also a member of the World Bowling Writers Hall of Fame and Finland Bowling Hall of Fame.

Phil Pfister is an American former strongman competitor, winning the 2006 Met-Rx World's Strongest Man competition and its $41,000 grand prize on September 23, 2006 in Sanya, China. He was the first American to win since Bill Kazmaier in 1982. Pfister stands 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m) and weighs 375 pounds (170 kg).

The 2006 Met-Rx World's Strongest Man was the 29th edition of World's Strongest Man and was won by Phil Pfister, the first American to win the competition since Bill Kazmaier in 1982. The contest took place between the 14th and 23 September 2006, in Sanya, China.

Guinness Irish brand of beer

The Beauty and The Beast Strongman Challenge, also known as the Beauty and The Beast World Strongman Challenge was a short-lived annual strongman competition that was notable for the calibre of the entrants it attracted, as well as for the reputation it attained in a short amount of time.

Jarno Hams

Jarno Hams is a strongman from the Netherlands. He participated in the World's Strongest Man in 2002 and 2003, but failed to qualify for the finals both times. Hams is a 7-time winner of Strongest Man of the Netherlands.

Juha-Matti Räsänen is a strongman competitor from Kuopio, Finland. Juha began training for strongman in 1995, began competing as an amateur in 1996 and turned professional in 2000. Juha competed in the 2001 and 2002 World's Strongest Man contests, finishing 9th and 6th respectively. Juha is a 2-time winner of Finland's Strongest Man in 2002 & 2003, and is a 3 time runner-up. Juha holds the Guinness World Record for throwing a 60 kg man 5.40 meters in Spain in July 2006. He was primarily known for his back strength, claiming a deadlift of 385 kg (849 lbs), and easily won that event in his heat of the 2001 World's Strongest Men competition.
