Helmut van Emden (born 30 December 1933) is Emeritus Professor of Horticulture at the University of Reading. He is known for work on insect-plant interactions in agroecosystems. He was born in Dresden, Germany. [1]

Van Emden is a former President and Honorary Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society and former President of the Association of Applied Biology.

Bloeme Evers-Emden was a Dutch lecturer and child psychologist who extensively researched the phenomenon of "hidden children" during World War II and wrote four books on the subject in the 1990s. SMS <i>Emden</i> Light cruiser of the German Imperial Navy

SMS Emden was the second and final member of the Dresden class of light cruisers built for the German Kaiserliche Marine. Named for the town of Emden, she was laid down at the Kaiserliche Werft in Danzig in 1906. The hull was launched in May 1908, and completed in July 1909. She had one sister ship, Dresden. Like the preceding Königsberg-class cruisers, Emden was armed with ten 10.5 cm (4.1 in) guns and two torpedo tubes.
