Helsingin Uimarit

Helsingin Uimarit (HU) is a non-profit swimming club operating in Helsinki, Finland. [1] HU was established in 1916. Today, there are more than 300 members taking part in HU:s swimming groups and -schools. HU has won the award for the best club in Finnish championships in swimming 28 times in a row. Activities such as racing, skating, and water polo exist within the school.

Founded in 1916, the Helsinki Swimmers was the only available pool for Helsinki swimming activities. Since the establishment, 427 Finnish Championships have been won by the club. [2]

Itäkeskus is a quarter in the neighbourhood of Vartiokylä in Helsinki, Finland. The district's main attraction is the largest covered-in shopping mall in the Nordic countries, Itis, which make Itäkeskus as the most significant commercial center of East Helsinki. The district has a station on the Helsinki Metro, whose eastern entrance at the Tallinnanaukio square leads to the shopping centre. Itäkeskus has the eastern terminus of bus lines 500 and 550; the western terminus of line 500 is Munkkivuori and line 550 is Espoo's Westend bus station. Construction of the Jokeri light rail, which replaces bus line 550, began in 2019 and traffic is scheduled to begin in 2024. The most important road connection to the Helsinki central from Itäkeskus runs along Itäväylä.

East Helsinki is an area in Helsinki, Finland, usually thought to comprise the city's eastern and south-eastern major districts, including the districts of Vartiokylä, Myllypuro, Mellunkylä, Vuosaari, Herttoniemi, Laajasalo and Kulosaari. With the exception of Kulosaari, the buildings in the area are relatively new – most have been built in the 1960s or later – and constitute relatively densely inhabited suburbs, except for the southern part of Laajasalo and most of Kulosaari. On the other side of the bridge to the west of Kulosaari is Helsinki Downtown, the so-called "South Helsinki". Officially, the name "East Helsinki" is not found in the city's regional nomenclature, but it was name created by the locals of the area.

Helsingin Jääkiekkoklubi or HJK for short is an ice hockey club located in Helsinki, Finland. The team was formed in 1972 when the ice hockey departmend of Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi was disestablished, but they are considered as different clubs as HJK does not claim any of the previous championships. Nowadays the club mainly focuses on their junior teams, but the men's team still plays in the 3. Divisioona.
