Per Henrik Peter Windstedt (born 8 September 1983) is a Swedish big mountain skier who has excelled at many aspects of skiing. He was one of Sweden's top moguls competitors as a junior, and has made big air and superpipe podiums. [1] He won the 2008 Freeride World Tour. [2]
Born and raised in the ski resort of Åre, Sweden, Windstedt started skiing regularly at an early age, coached by his father Peter, a high-level ski instructor. Windstedt made the National Mogul Team in 1999. He won the Junior World Mogul Championships in 2002 and competed in alpine ski racing for 11 seasons. He won the 2005 Men's Moguls FIS event at Winter Park, USA [3] and it would be in freestyle and freeskiing he would make his biggest impact. [4]
At age 16, he won King of the Hill in Riksgränsen, Sweden. In 1998, aged 17, he entered his first Big Air event and in 2000 won a Red Bull Big Air in Åre. [1] He finished 5th in superpipe at Winter X-Games in 2003, and placed 2nd behind TJ Schiller in the slopestyle at the US Open in Vail, Colorado in 2004. [5] [4] Windstedt won the Scandinavian Big Mountain Championships seven times 2001–2011 and was crowned Freeride World Champion in 2008. [2]
Following his win of the Freeride World Tour in 2008 Windstedt moved from Åre to the Principality of Monaco, to the same apartment building as several other Swedes who are alpine ski racers, and moved in two doors down from Jon Olsson, a fellow freeskiing Swede. [6]

Åre is a locality and one of the leading Scandinavian ski resorts situated in Åre Municipality, Jämtland County, Sweden with 3,200 inhabitants in 2018. It is, however, not the seat of the municipality, which is Järpen. 25% of the local economy is based on tourism, most notably the downhill skiing and biking resorts in Åre, Duved and Storlien. The growth in tourism has resulted in the development of hotels, recreational and shopping opportunities in the area.

Freeriding is a style of skiing or snowboarding performed on natural, un-groomed terrain, without a set course, goals or rules. It evolved throughout the sport's formative years as a contrary response to the highly regimented style of ski competition prevalent at the time. Snowboarders primarily refer to freeriding as backcountry, sidecountry, or off-piste snowboarding, and sometimes big mountain or extreme riding.

Shane McConkey was a professional skier and BASE jumper. He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and eventually based himself in Olympic Valley, California. Due to an itinerant childhood, he never identified with a single place, but he was said to have come from Boulder, Colorado. It was from here that he started his professional skiing career. He did so after dropping out of the University of Colorado Boulder to pursue his dreams.
David Crichton is a professional freestyle skier and former member of the Canadian National Development Ski Team for freestyle mogul skiing.
Jon Anders Olsson is a former professional freeskier and alpine ski racer from Sweden. Born in Mora, Olsson started his career as a ski racer but at age 16 he switched his race skis for twin tips and quit ski racing. Eight years later, after a 50 000 SEK (US$5826.22) bet with fellow skier Jens Byggmark, Olsson started ski racing again with the goal of the bets being to make it to the Olympics in 2014. He now competes in both freestyle and ski racing. Olsson is known for his invention of several new double flips, including a D-spin 720 into a flatspin 540, a switch double rodeo 1080, a double flatspin 900, and a switch cork 720 to flatspin 540.

Thomas James "TJ" Schiller is a Canadian freestyle skier. Schiller combines amplitude with style and is best known for his signature switch 1080 mute grab. During Winter X Games XIV, Schiller became the first person to land a double cork 1620. Behind Henrik Harlaut and Andrew Taylor, he is the third person to land a 1620 of any kind in competition. Schiller is the head skier of the Canadian freestyle team.
Grete Eliassen is an American-Norwegian freestyle skier. She won a bronze medal in Slopestyle at the 2011 Winter X Games XV in Aspen, Colorado, behind Kaya Turski and Keri Herman. She has won six medals at the Winter X Games in slopestyle and halfpipe events including back to back gold medals in 2005 and 2006. Eliassen has been serving as the 16th president of the Women's Sports Foundation, effective January 2017.

Janette Hargin is a Swedish former alpine skier who competed in the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics. During her alpine skiing career she won six Swedish national titles and scored six top ten finishes in alpine skiing World Cup races, including a career best of second in a combined in Åre in 2002. At the 2002 Winter Olympics she finished 25th in the downhill, 27th in the super-G and 31st in the giant slalom, whilst in 2006 she finished 12th in the combined, 17th in the downhill and 22nd in the super-G. Her best result in an Alpine Skiing World Championships was a 12th in the super-G in 2003.
Half-pipe skiing is the sport of riding snow skis on a half-pipe. Competitors perform a series of tricks while going down the pipe. The current world record for highest jump in a half-pipe is held by Joffrey Pollet-Villard, with 26 feet 3 inches. The sport is considered to be dangerous compared to other sports, and helmets are required to be worn during competitions. Half-pipe skiing has been part of the Winter X Games since 2002, and made its Olympic debut at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. David Wise of the United States of America became the first Olympic champion in this discipline with a total of 92.00 points.
Yulia Evgenievna Galysheva is a Kazakhstani mogul skier who won three medals at FIS Freestyle Ski World Championships, bronze medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic Games and two gold medals at the Asian Winter Games in 2011.
