The 2022 Hamilton municipal election was a municipal election that occurred on 24 October 2022,as per the Ontario Municipal Elections Act,1996. Residents of Hamilton selected one mayor,members of the Hamilton City Council,as well as members of both the English and French Public and Catholic School Boards using a first-past-the-post electoral system in single-member constituencies,called wards. Based on their electoral registration,voters also selected one of 11 Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board trustees,9 Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board trustees,1 Conseil scolaire Viamonde trustee,or 1 Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir trustee. Hamiltonians had the options of voting in-person or through a mail-in ballot.

A British Columbia Liberal Party leadership election was held on February 5,2022,to elect a new party leader,following the resignation of Andrew Wilkinson after the 2020 British Columbia general election. Kevin Falcon was declared the winner following the counting of the fifth ballot. This was the last leadership election under the name "BC Liberal Party",as the party changed its name to "BC United" in April 2023.
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is a municipal police force in the city of Surrey,British Columbia,Canada. It is one of several police departments within the Metro Vancouver Regional District,and as of December 2022,the second largest municipal police service in British Columbia. Prior to the SPS's establishment,Surrey was Canada's largest city without a municipal police service. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police,Canada's federal police force,currently has policing jurisdiction in Surrey,and SPS has had difficulty with the transition from the RCMP due to opposition from Surrey mayor Brenda Locke and the municipal government. In April of 2024 the provincial government of British Columbia set a deadline for the transfer of jurisdiction. The Surrey Police Service will transition into the role of municipal policing in Surrey on November 29,2024.
The 2022 British Columbia municipal elections were held on 15 October 2022. Municipal elections took place in all municipalities and regional district electoral areas in the Canadian province of British Columbia to elect mayors,school board trustees,rural directors and city councillors. Elections BC administered campaign financing,disclosure and advertisement of candidates;however,voting,ballots and candidate nominations were administered by each jurisdiction's local electoral officer.
