Hestnes is a small village in Eigersund municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is on the southern edge of the town of Egersund. The population of Hestnes in 2007 was 203, but since that time it has been considered part of the Egersund urban area. [2]

The 6.36-square-kilometre (1,570-acre) village has a population (2015) of 11,473 which gives the town a population density of 1,804 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,670/sq mi).

The 3.95-square-kilometre (1.53 sq mi) lake is a major reservoir for the local energy company Dalane Energi, and has a capacity of 20,000,000 cubic metres (5.3×109 US gal), the second largest in the area after the lake Spjodevatnet with 24,000,000 cubic metres (6.3×109 US gal).

Vibberodden Lighthouse is a harbour lighthouse located in the municipality of Eigersund in Rogaland county, Norway. It was first lit in 1855, and automated in 1977. The lighthouse is located on the small island of Vibberodden, just southeast of the shore of the island of Eigerøya, marking the west side of the entrance to a narrow fjord leading to the town of Egersund. The lighthouse operates in coordination with Eigerøy Lighthouse and guides boats into the southern entrance to the Egersund harbour.

Egersund Church is a parish church in Eigersund municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the town of Egersund. The church is part of the Egersund parish in the Dalane deanery in the Diocese of Stavanger. The white, wooden, cruciform church was built around the year 1623. It was expanded and renovated in 1785 and again in 1927. The church seats just over 1,000 people. There is historical evidence to show that a church has been on this site since possibly the 11th century AD.
Bakkebø Church is a parish church in Eigersund municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the northern part of the town of Egersund. The church is part of the Egersund parish in the Dalane deanery in the Diocese of Stavanger. The white, concrete church was built in 1960 by the architects Arnstein Arneberg and Olav S. Platou. The church seats about 400 people and it was consecrated on 29 May 1960.
