The Heuliez GX 437 is a single-decker bus made by the French bus manufacturer Heuliez Bus designed for use in public transport, and is the articulated version of the Heuliez GX 337. The GX 437 is the successor to the Heuliez GX 427, which went out of production at the end of 2013. Diesel, Hybrid and Electric powered versions of the GX 437 exist. [1] [2]
Together with the GX 137 and GX 337 the Heuliez GX 437 forms a series called Access BUS 3rd generation.
The bus was designed on a Iveco Bus Urbanway 18-chassis. As a result, the bus has the same properties as the Iveco Bus Urbanway. In June 2014, it was presented at the European Mobility Exhibition at Villepinte Exhibition Center. [3] Three-door and four-door versions of the bus exist.
The electric busses are equipped with a 160/200 kW electric traction motor and with an energy & power Li-ion NMC battery system (250 kWh). [4] The bus can run 120 km on a single charge and can optionally be recharged with an on-board pantograph, [5] but conventional or a mix of both charging options are also available.
In addition to the standard region-/city bus design the bus is also available in a HOV/BRT (Bus Rapid Transit)-design, [6] which is being marketed as the "GX LINIUM" series. [7]
All Heuliez GX 437 are built at the Heuliez Bus factory in Rorthais, Deux-Sèvres, France. [8] In the future only the electric version will be produced, production of the diesel version will be phased out. [6]
The Heuliez GX 437 is used primarily in Europe, mainly by French public transport companies. [9]
In The Netherlands electric versions of the bus are operated by Qbuzz in Utrecht and Groningen, [10] [11] [12] In Norway the electric version is used in Trondheim since 2019. [13]

An electric bus is a bus that is propelled using electric motors, as opposed to a conventional internal combustion engine. Electric buses can store the needed electrical energy on board, or be fed mains electricity continuously from an external source such as overhead lines. The majority of buses using on-board energy storage are battery electric buses, where the electric motor obtains energy from an onboard battery pack, although examples of other storage modes do exist, such as the gyrobus that uses flywheel energy storage. When electricity is not stored on board, it is supplied by contact with outside power supplies, for example, via a current collector, or with a ground-level power supply, or through inductive charging.

A midibus is a classification of single-decker minibuses which are generally larger than a traditional minibus but smaller than a full-size single decker and can be anywhere between 8 metres and 11 metres long. While used in many parts of the world, the midibus is perhaps most common in the United Kingdom, where operators have found them more economical, and to have a sufficient number of seats compared to full size single-decker buses.

The Iveco Daily is a large light commercial van produced by the Italian automaker Iveco since 1978; it was also sold as the Fiat Daily by Fiat until 1983. Unlike the more car-like unibody Fiat Ducato, the Daily uses a separate ladder frame typical of heavier commercial vehicles. RG-35, is a South African mine resistant ambush protected vehicle developed by Land Systems OMC, a subsidiary of BAE Systems. The RG-35 was introduced in 2009 as a 6x6 vehicle, and a 4x4 version is also under development with the designers intending to make it a new family of vehicles. Described by BAE Systems as a "new class of vehicle" combining the capabilities of a 4x4 mine protected vehicle and a 8x8 combat vehicle, the RG-35 can be utilized in a variety of roles, including command, ambulance or recovery vehicle.

The Iveco CityClass is an urban, suburban and peri-urban bus launched by the Iveco bus division in 1997 and renamed Irisbus in 2000. It is the equivalent of Agora in France. It succeeds the Iveco 490 TurboCity UR Green urban bus, later replaced by the Irisbus Citelis.
