Hightown Hockey Club was a field hockey club based at Hightown, Merseyside.

The men's section of the hockey club was formed in 1914 and was part of the Hightown Club which ran several sports including cricket, rugby, tennis and football. [1] The women's section was formed later and became one of the leading clubs in England winning three league championships and four national cup wins. [2] [3]

The men's team disbanded following the 1980s merger with the Northern Hockey Club and in 2004 the women's team merged with Bowdon Hockey Club which ended the hockey association with the village of Hightown. [4]

The 2012–13 English Hockey League season took place from September 2012 until April 2013. The end of season playoffs were held on the 13 & 14 April for the men and the 20 & 21 April for the women. The Men's Championship was won by Beeston and the Women's Championship was won by Reading.

The 2008–09 English Hockey League season took place from September 2008 until March 2009. The league was sponsored by Slazenger and the men's title was won by East Grinstead with the women's title going to Bowdon Hightown. There were no playoffs during the season.

The 2006–07 English Hockey League season took place from September 2006 until April 2007. The league was sponsored by Slazenger and the men's title was won by Reading with the women's title going to Leicester. There were no playoffs during the season.

The 2005–06 English Hockey League season took place from September 2005 until June 2006.

Hounslow Hockey Club was a field hockey club based at Duke's Meadows, Chiswick, West London and was formed in 1901, initially playing at a variety of locations in the Hounslow Area until becoming a section of Hounslow Cricket and Sports Club, sited at Church Meadow in Hounslow West, circa 1923. The men's team were champions of England on two occasions.

The competition was originally known as the Women's National Clubs Championship. The inaugural competition was won by the Chelsea College of Physical Education (Eastbourne) in 1977–78. It has also been known as the All England Women's Hockey Association Cup, the EHA Cup and the EH Women's Cup. During the 2010s it was sponsored by Investec and was known as the Investec Women's Cup.
