The Mendota Hills Wind Farm is a wind farm in Lee County, Illinois near the village of Paw Paw. It operates 29 wind turbines. Each wind turbine stands 214 ft tall and has three 85 ft long blades. The wind farm was constructed from June 2003 to November 24, 2003. Mendota Hills was the first utility-scale wind farm in the state of Illinois.
Wind power in Ohio has a long history, and as of 2016, Ohio had 545 megawatts (MW) of utility-scale wind power installations installed, responsible for 1.1% of in-state electricity generated. Over 1000 MW more were under construction or pending approval. Some installations have become tourist attractions. There has been a sudden increase in generating capacity, as total wind power capacity in the state was just 9.7 MW in 2010. By 2019, there were 738 MW of capacity, which generated 1.71% of Ohio's electricity.
The Smoky Hills Wind Farm is a 250 megawatt (MW) wind farm in Lincoln and Ellsworth Counties, 140 miles west of Topeka in Kansas, north of Ellsworth. The farm is operated by Enel Green Power. Highway K-14 and Interstate 70 pass through parts of the wind farm, with clear views of many of the wind turbines. The project uses 56 Vestas V80 1.8 MW wind turbines and produces enough electricity to power some 37,000 average Kansas homes annually. As of 19 November 2008, phase II is under construction with 99 GE 1.5 MW wind turbines for an additional 148.5 MW, to bring the total nameplate capacity to 249.3 MW. Phase II was completed and began commercial operation in December 2008.
Fenner Wind Farm is situated in Madison County, New York. This farm is one of the first operating in New York State and is the second in Madison County.
There are a number of wind power projects in the state of Maine, totaling more than 900 megawatts (MW) in capacity. In 2020 they were responsible for 24% of in-state electricity production. In 2019, Maine had more wind capacity than the other five New England states combined, at 923 MW.

It has operations in five continents generating energy from solar, geothermal, wind and hydropower sources. As of 2022, it manages a capacity of 59,9 GW and has over 1200 plants worldwide.
Wind power in Rhode Island is in the early stages of development. There are several small scale wind turbine projects in the state. As of December 2013 there were 11 turbines at 10 sites in the state. In 2014, Rhode Island had 9 MW of installed wind power capacity, which quickly rose to 75 MW in 2019.
Wind power in Tennessee has most potential in East Tennessee along the North Carolina border. The state has not passed renewable portfolio standard legislation and there is just one utility-scale wind farm with 15 operating turbines and previously 3 test turbines. The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), based in Knoxville, imports wind-generated electricity into its service area which includes Tennessee. US Senator Lamar Alexander from Tennessee is an outspoken critic of wind power.
Wind power in Kentucky has limited potential for development within the state since there are generally low wind speeds, though there are specific locations where it can be effective. The state has not passed renewable portfolio standard legislation and there are no commercial-scale wind turbines. Kentucky may benefit from the development of wind power in Tennessee, an adjoining state with which it is collaborating, and from efforts by the Tennessee Valley Authority to both develop and import wind-generated electricity into the region.
Wind power in Arkansas remains nearly untapped, with just a single wind turbine in the state. Arkansas does not have a renewable portfolio standard. Studies have concluded that while Arkansas is generally considered to have low wind resources, there are significant pockets of it throughout the state.
Wind power in Missouri has an installed capacity of 959 MW from 499 turbines, as of 2016. This provided 1.29% of the state's electricity production.
The Bright Stalk Wind Farm is a 57-turbine wind farm near Chenoa in northeastern McLean County in the U.S. state of Illinois. The turbines were designed to generate a maximum of 205 megawatts of electricity. The complex was completed in 2019 by EDP Renewables North America at a cost of more than $300 million, and entered operations in 2020.
The Whitney Hill Wind Farm is a 24-turbine wind farm near Mount Pulaski in southeastern Logan County in the U.S. state of Illinois. The project was developed by Enel Green Power.
The Sugar Creek Wind Farm is a 57-turbine wind farm in western Logan County in the U.S. state of Illinois. The project was developed by Liberty Power, a subsidiary of Algonquin Power and Utilities.

The Hoopeston Wind Farm is a 49-turbine wind farm in northern Vermilion County in Illinois. Investment capital for the project was organized by IKEA, which did so to earn clean-energy tax credits for the stores that it operates. IKEA hired Apex Clean Energy to build the complex.
The Pioneer Trail Wind Farm is a 94-turbine wind farm, established in 2011, in Ford County and Iroquois County in Illinois. The wind farm is headquartered in the Ford County seat of Paxton.
The Bishop Hill Wind Farms are three Illinois wind farms containing a total of 201 turbines in Henry County. Developed in 2012 through 2018, as a complex the three wind farms have a nameplate capacity of 424.0 megawatts of electricity.
