The Christian Church is a Mainline Protestant Christian denomination in the United States and Canada. The denomination started with the Restoration Movement during the Second Great Awakening, first existing during the 19th century as a loose association of churches working towards Christian unity, then slowly forming quasi-denominational structures through missionary societies, regional associations, and an international convention. In 1968, the Disciples of Christ officially adopted a denominational structure at which time a group of churches left to remain nondenominational.
The Restoration Movement is a Christian movement that began on the United States frontier during the Second Great Awakening (1790–1840) of the early 19th century. The pioneers of this movement were seeking to reform the church from within and sought "the unification of all Christians in a single body patterned after the church of the New Testament."

Barton Warren Stone was an American Evangelist during the early 19th-century Second Great Awakening in the United States. First ordained a Presbyterian minister, he and four other ministers of the Washington Presbytery resigned after arguments about doctrine and enforcement of policy by the Kentucky Synod. This was in 1803, after Stone had helped lead the mammoth Cane Ridge Revival, a several-day communion season attended by nearly 20,000 persons.
Barton College is a private liberal arts college in Wilson, North Carolina. The college is affiliated with the Christian Church and enrolls nearly 1,200 students on campus.
Millbrook High School is a public high school located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The school is part of the Wake County Public School System. In 2006, Millbrook finished the renovation of its campus which includes a new three-level building, a new courtyard for students, and a larger cafeteria making MHS one of the largest and up to date facilities in the WCPSS system. Millbrook has a monthly newspaper named the Cat Talk, named after their mascot, "Wiley the Wildcat". Performing arts include marching band, drama, choir, dance, technical theater, and an orchestra. In 2009, Millbrook High School was granted International Baccalaureate status by the North Carolina Board of Education. The changes were implemented with the incoming class in the 2011–2012 school year.

The Minor Basilica of St. Lawrence the Deacon & Martyr is a minor basilica of the Roman Catholic Church in downtown Asheville, North Carolina, United States. The church was designed and built in 1905 by Spanish architect Rafael Guastavino along with his fellow architect R. S. Smith and the Roman Catholic community of Asheville. Pope John Paul II elevated the status of the church to minor basilica in 1993. It is a parish church, located within the Diocese of Charlotte. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is the only basilica in western North Carolina. Its dome has a span of 58 by 82 feet and is reputed to be the largest, freestanding, elliptical dome in North America. Except for the foundation and brick walls, the architectural style is Catalan, with the main example being the stairs behind the altar. It is located in the Downtown Asheville Historic District.
Prairie Green Township is one of twenty-six townships in Iroquois County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 183 and it contained 92 housing units. Prairie Green Township was originally named Prairie Township, and was formed from Stockland Township, originally known as Crab Apple Township, in March 1857. The name was changed to Prairie Green Township in March 1858.
Salem Fork is an unincorporated community in central Surry County, North Carolina. The community is centered on the junction of Zephyr Road and Interstate 77. Prominent landmarks in the community include Salem Fork Baptist Church and Salem Fork Church of Christ. A growing commercial area is developing in the center of the community, including hotels and planned shops. This is due to the increased traffic volume from the interstate to the nearby Shelton Vineyards attraction and the expansion of some municipal services from the nearby town of Dobson.

The Long View Center is a historic church building located in the Moore Square Historic District of Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The facility sits directly across from Moore Square, one of two surviving four-acre parks from Raleigh's original 1792 plan. Built between 1879 and 1881, Long View was originally known as Tabernacle Baptist Church. The name of the building was changed to Long View Center in 1998 after a local developer purchased the property to be used as a mixed-use facility. After a purchase in December 2013, it is now owned by Vintage Church. Currently, the sanctuary and offices are used by Vintage Church and Sunday services are held by Vintage Church Downtown.
St. John's Metropolitan Community Church is a Christian church catering to the LGBT population in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The church is a member congregation of the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC), a worldwide fellowship of LGBT-affirming churches. St. John's is also affiliated with the North Carolina Council of Churches and the Raleigh Religious Network for Lesbian and Gay Equality (RRNLGE). The church located on South Glenwood Avenue in downtown Raleigh.

Jessie Trout was a Canadian missionary to Japan for nearly 20 years until she left Japan during World War II. She was a leader in the Disciples of Christ and the first woman to serve as vice president of the United Christian Missionary Society. She was a member of the Disciples of Christ, an author, translator, and co-founder of the Christian Women's Fellowship (1950) and the International Christian Women's Fellowship (1953).
Central Christian Church, also known in its early years as the Church of Christ in Indianapolis and Christian Chapel, is located at 701 North Delaware Street in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Its members formally organized on June 12, 1833, as the city's first Christian Church congregation. The congregation formally adopted the name of Central Christian Church on February 3, 1879. Its red brick and stone masonry Romanesque Revival-style church was dedicated in 1893. Building additions were completed in 1913 and in 1922. The church continues to serve the Indianapolis community and holds weekly worship services.
