Hiranyamayee Lama was a Bhutanese politician. In 1979 she became the first woman elected to the Tshogdu.
Lama was K.D. Pradhan's daughter. She was educated in Kalimpong in India and married Dasho Durgadas Lama,who became a royal advisory councillor and was a prominent Christian activist. [1]
In June 1979 Lama was elected to the National Assembly from the Chengmari district as a People's Representative,becoming the first woman to sit in the Parliament of Bhutan. [2]

The Tibetan Parliament in Exile (TPiE),officially the Parliament of the Central Tibetan Administration,is the unicameral and highest legislative organ of the Central Tibetan Administration,the government-in-exile of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. Neten Zangmo is a Bhutanese government official and politician. She headed Bhutan's Anti-Corruption Commission,and was bestowed with the title of Dasho in 2009. On 29 May 2017 she became leader of Bhutan Kuen-Nyam Party. She resigned the position on September 16,2018,the day after the party failed to make the first round of voting to compete in the general election,but it took nearly two years for the BKP to accept her resignation. The party founder,Sonam Tobgay,told Bhutan Broadcasting Service that it would be difficult to replace Zangmo,who he considered the party's biggest asset. "Within the BKP family,we have high respect for her and also have expectations from her.”
