Ho Lye Toh (born 1923) is a Singaporean retired weightlifter and a three times former Miss Singapore. [1] [2] [3]

Toh's father was Ho Peng Khoen, a school teacher and Malayan weightlifting champion. He encouraged Ho to weightlift in order to build up her strength, rewarding her with small gifts as she lifted greater weights. Eventually she mastered the snatch-lift.

Ho also entered beauty pageants winning several times but was forced to stop following the Japanese invasion of Singapore during World War II. She tried again after the war but her boyfriend asked her to stop as she was too successful.

Vietnam competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. It is the 13th summer games in which the nation has competed since its first appearance in 1952. Hidilyn Francisco Diaz is a Filipino weightlifter and airwoman. She competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics where she was the youngest competitor in the women's 58-kg category. She was a bronze medalist in the 2007 SEA Games in Thailand and achieved 10th place at the 2006 Asian Games in the 53-kilogram class. And while a student of the Universidad de Zamboanga representing her university, she won two golds and one silver in the Asian Youth/Junior Weightlifting Championship held in Jeonju, South Korea.

Karyn Marshall American weightlifter

Dr. Karyn Marshall, DC, is an American Olympic weightlifter who won the first women's world championship in weightlifting, held in 1987. She also set 60 American and world records in women's weightlifting and in 1985 became the first woman in history to clean and jerk over 300 lb (136 kg), which she did with a lift of 303 pounds (137 kg). She became a doctor of chiropractic and runs a private practice in Shrewsbury, New Jersey while battling breast cancer since 2011. In 2011, Marshall was inducted into the USA Weightlifting Hall of Fame, and she was inducted into the International Weightlifting Hall of Fame in 2015.

Yuvika Chaudhary is an Indian actress who has appeared in Bollywood films such as Om Shanti Om, Summer 2007 and Toh Baat Pakki!. She made history at the Games by becoming the first ever woman weightlifter to be selected by Singapore to take part in a major athletic event. She was placed 8th at the Games, her first international competition.

He is 152 centimetres and weighs 55 kilograms (121 lb). Om represents the Amnokgang Sports Team.

Khumukcham Sanjita Chanu is an Indian weightlifter. Born in Kakching Khunou, Kakching district, Manipur, she is a two time Commonwealth Games Champion. Chanu won the gold medals at the 2014 Glasgow and the 2018 Gold Coast events in the women's 48 kg and 53 kg weight category respectively. She holds the Commonwealth Games record of 84 kg for the Snatch segment in the latter weight category.

Saikhom Mirabai Chanu is an Indian weightlifter. She won Silver at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Women's 49 kg, securing India's first medal of the games. A regular presence in international events since 2014 in the 48 kg category, Mirabai Chanu has won the World Championships and multiple medals at the Commonwealth Games. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for her contributions to the sport. She was the first Indian lifter to win a silver at the Olympics and the second to win a medal after Karnam Malleswari's bronze in Sydney 2000. She was awarded Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award by the Government of India in 2018.

Meena Kumari is an Indian weightlifter and police officer who placed fifth in the women's 58 kg weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Rukhsar Rehman Indian film and television actress (born 1975)

Rukhsar Rehman is an Indian film and television actress. Rehman made her film debut in 1992 at the age of 17 with a lead role in Deepak Anand's Yaad Rakhegi Duniya opposite Aditya Pancholi and also appeared in J.K.
