Hobart Historic Cruises operates cruises and charter routes on the Derwent River, Tasmania. These ferry tours have operated on the Derwent Harbour since the 1980s [ citation needed ].
The longer ferry route travels north and south of the Tasman Bridge. The other two go north and south, respectively.
Bus tours visit Port Arthur, Bruny Island, Richmond, Mt Wellington and Devil Zoo.
Captain Fell's Historic Ferries had a long history of operating ferries on the Derwent River. The owner of the Spirit of Hobart was Peter O'May, [1] a descendant of the original O'May Family that have been operating ferries on the Derwent River since 1863. [2] [3]
The business ownership was transferred from Peter O'May to the LJ Family Trust in September 2013. During this time, the business began to encounter controversy after a series of workplace incidents and poor public perception [4]

HobartHOH-bart; is the capital and most populous city of the island state of Tasmania, Australia. The Tasman Bridge is a prestressed concrete girder bridge connecting the Tasman Highway over the River Derwent in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. When it opened on 29 March 1965, the Tasman was the longest prestressed concrete bridge in Australia, with a total length measuring 1,396 metres (4,580 ft), including approaches. The bridge provides a vital link between Hobart's city centre on the western shore and the City of Clarence on the eastern shore. Averaging 73,029 vehicle crossings per day, the bridge is the highest volume road section in Tasmania. It features five lanes of traffic including a central lane equipped for tidal flow operations and separated shared-use walkways on both sides, with ramp upgrades for improved access and cyclists completed in 2010.

Austins Ferry is a residential suburb of the local government area (LGA) of Glenorchy in the greater Hobart region of Tasmania. The locality is about 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) north of the town of Glenorchy. The 2021 census recorded a population of 2,395 for Austins Ferry. It is a suburb of Hobart.
The Bruny Island Ferry links Bruny Island to the Tasmanian mainland. Once operated by North Western Shipping and Towage Co. Taroona Beach is a popular beach destination along the River Derwent in Taroona, Hobart, Tasmania. The south facing beach looks directly out to Storm Bay and the Tasman Sea, with views of the Derwent estuary, the City of Clarence on the eastern shore, Opossum Bay, South Arm, the Alum Cliffs and northern tip of Bruny Island. Taroona Beach is situated between Hinsby Beach and Crayfish Point, home of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Centre for the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies. Taroona Beach contains a boat ramp and is backed by Taroona Park which contains bathroom facilities, a skate park, scout hall, the Taroona Tennis Club, and the Taroona Bowls and Community Club.
