Hold That Tiger is the fourth album released by The Muddy Basin Ramblers. The album was nominated for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards in the Best Recording Package category. [1]
The album was designed by Onion Design Associates based in Taiwan by art directors Andrew Wong and Fongming Yang. [2] The visual style of the album incorporates Taiwan’s religious folk culture, Taoist mysticism, and 50’s retro-futurism. The CD sleeve itself is modeled after a Taoist Fu talisman. [3]

Kulilay Amit, Han Chinese name Chang Hui-mei, better known by her stage name A-Mei, is a Taiwanese singer and record producer of Puyuma descent. Born as Amit Kulilay in the rugged mountains of eastern Taiwan, she made her debut in 1996. A leading figure of the Mandopop music scene since the mid-1990s, A-Mei is widely known for breaking ground for Taiwanese indigenous peoples and being a voice for LGBT rights and gender equality. Jocie Guo is a Singaporean singer and songwriter. Tanya Chua is a Singaporean singer-songwriter. She launched her singing career by releasing her debut studio album Bored in 1997. She was part of the trio that sang Moments of Magic (1999), Singapore's official millennium song. Her albums, Amphibian (2005), Goodbye & Hello (2007), Sing It Out of Love (2011) and Depart (2021), each won her a Golden Melody Award for Best Mandarin Female Singer award.
Yoga Lin Youjia is a Taiwanese singer. He was the winner of One Million Star, Season 1, a reality TV singing competition in Taiwan during his study at National Dong Hwa University. During the competition, he once contemplated quitting due to the elimination of his good friend, Eddie Tsai (蔡政霖). However, show producers persuaded him to maintain his composure and regain his determination, attaining five rounds of perfect scores continuously after that – an unbeatable record up to now. After winning first place in Season One, he was signed by HIM International Music along with three fellow contestants, Judy Chou (周定緯), Peter Pan (潘裕文) and Stanly Hsu (許仁杰). They were dubbed the "Four Princes of Superstar Avenue" (星光四少).
Cape No. 7 is a 2008 Taiwanese romantic musical comedy-drama film written and directed by Wei Te-sheng, his first full-length motion picture. The film is in Taiwanese and Mandarin with significant lines in Japanese. Before its commercial release, the film had its world premiere on 20 June 2008 at the 2008 Taipei Film Festival as the opening film. The film later won 3 awards at the festival.

From 1990 to 1996 there was an award called Best Recording Album designed to honor quality engineering for pop or instrumental recording albums; The award was discontinued from 1997 in a major overhaul of Golden Melody Award categories. Bad Boy is the second studio album by Taiwanese singer A-Mei. It was released on June 7, 1997, by Forward Music. Predominantly an R&B, pop and soul record, Bad Boy centers on the theme of love and relationships. The album was produced by her mentor Chang Yu-sheng with the aid of Benjamin Lin, Ma Yu-fen and Yu Guangyan. It was ultimately the last album of hers that Chang was actively involved with due to his untimely death caused by a car crash five months later. On August 17, 2018, 21 years after its initial release date, a vinyl reissue of Bad Boy was released by Forward Music.
The Muddy Basin Ramblers are a jug band formed in 2002 by a group of American and British expats residing in Taipei, Taiwan. Their music is heavily influenced by 1920s and 1930s blues, jazz, and traditional string bands. Many of their songs are also inspired by traditional Taiwanese folk music and their experiences within Taiwanese culture. The Ramblers got their start playing on the street, riverside, and practicing in bars after hours. The band performs predominantly in English, but also performs in Mandarin and Taiwanese. All members of the group are multi-instrumentalists, often switching instruments after each song during live performances. They incorporate many homemade instruments like washboard, washtub bass, and jug.
Jug Band Millionaire is the fifth album released by The Muddy Basin Ramblers. The album was nominated for the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in the Best Recording Package category. The album is composed of fifteen tracks including jug band standards and originals. Also included with the physical album is a 33 page booklet with song notes, sheet music, and jug band history notes.
Formosa Medicine Show is the second album released by The Muddy Basin Ramblers. It was nominated for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in the Best Recording Package category.
The Dance Age is the first EP released by The Muddy Basin Ramblers. It was released alongside a collaborative project with Naughty Swing, a swing dancing troupe based in Taipei, Taiwan. A music video covering the 1938 Taiwanese classic Dance Age was released along side the EP.
